mk88, since it's an exploration block, the chances is 50-50. G4/50 block has a potential accumulation zone (i.e reservoir). But, seismic data cannot confirm fluid type 100%, so they still need to drill exploration wells to confirm. Since close-by blocks have oil accumulation, so there are "source" rocks beneath the reservoir...if I have to make a guess, there should be oil accumulation in the G4/50 block - it's just a matter of whether the volume is big or not to produce commercially. Personal opinion, Sona will strike oil in G4/50 block - they might have the same scenario with strong water aquifer...but, they'll be able to handle that based on the experience on B8/38 block.

This is not a buy or sell call, haha, but I am buying.

I read Sala report that said exploration on southern areas of G4/50 were not successful. however, Sala was confident of northern areas of G4/50

Now is the time to collect Sona...before the price movement once the QA is a done deal. They will have a producing block as well as an exploration block. If they strike oil in the exploration block, more reserves will be added without having to pay anything extra. Maybe some quarters are "worried" that Sona will have to take up a RM445mil loan....I think they forget that the loan can be serviced right away with the existing productions from the B8/38 block.

What analysts think: While KiniBiz has it on good standing that Sumatec has called for analyst briefings, with attendance by several major research houses including CIMB and Maybank, a search turned up no reports by any analysts, with calls to research houses answered with a sometimes apologetic, sometimes curt “I’m sorry, but we are not covering Sumatec at this time”.

As such, there remains a lack of reports by analysts, even though there has been at least one analyst briefing.

Guessing game is always hard. Why directors sell? What was the intention? Does the fundamental change after the selling? Who bought it? Why someone bought it? Did the MD sell a lot too? Only the seller (intention) and buyer (intention) know, the rest, we can guess whatever we want. We can debate until the cows come home and we will not get the answer. So, do not waste time speculating. Any announcements that effect the fundamental?

price correction is opportune time to buy low too

TPY & OKA are selling maybe to raise $$$ to finance their other corporate exercises like MPCORP for instance. Since they are selling at quite a fast pace, the price is definitely affected, but since the company is fundamentally strong, it is likely for the price to rebounce once they are done selling.


selling well absorbed by buyers, the downtime is just temporary if the fundamental is good, buy opportunity

Without the 2 this company is dead fish just like last 10years after IPO. Ikan bilis like us stuck if rely on organic growth. Share no buyer sell also cannot. Wait for dividend is laughable 20years return. The two season investors always sell and buy back you never know they may show selling just to shake you to "sell" then they buy more shares. They did it at price from 0.90 until 1.30 then buy up 1.20 to 1.60 sell 1.50 then buy up 1.60 to 2.10 and now sell 1.90. Before you know they may buy up 2.00 until 2.50. Notice the pattern and gain of 50-60c per round? They buy we sell, they sell we buy.


if what you said is true, check his other counters whether there are going up and sustainable price plus with dividend!!

strategy is buy before analyst report is out. once analysts recommend buy, all funds will jump in, then prices will be much higher

BFM, is of the opinion that there is nothing Great of this transaction. Salamander can be bought directly from FTSE, why need to go thru a third party like SONA. Than have to pay SONA management overhead for this "lazy" approach to buy a listed company.This opinion make sense.
This share is going to hit rock bottom once suspension is lifted at 10am
