I received a big letter with some report document like from Protasco today. I have no idea what is it. Can some sifu please explain or highlight the important?

Prtsco is a good company paying good dividend, until the 2 came along and defraud our dividend

Salamander Energy (LON:SMDR)
Salamander Energy announced that it has completed the planned upgradation of facilities at Bualuang field in the Gulf of Thailand. The hook up and commissioning of new power and processing modules was completed in May followed by the arrival of Floating Storage and Offtake Vessel (FSO) at the site in July. The FSO is now completely functional. Yesterday, the first oil was received in the tanks of the newly converted Suksan Salamander Floating Storage and Offtake Vessel. The new facilities target operating costs savings of upto US$25m by halving the day rate of the production vessel and improving potential production rates.
Our view: The successful culmination of the planned upgradation to install the new FSO would enable Salamander Energy to reduce costs and achieve higher output. Furthermore, the new FSO would also increase the productive life of the field and water handling capacity. It will also have a turret mooring system with 360 degree swivel capability to minimize the risk of future downtime. Earlier this year, Salamander had to temporarily shut production at the Bualuang oil field due to an accident caused by bad weather conditions and mooring of chains of the Rubicon Vantage FPSO into the exclusion zone. The Bualuang oil field is Salamander’s flagship oil production asset where the production forecast is expected to average between 11,000 and 14,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) for 2014. In light of the above and the success at the West Kerendan-1 well, we expect the company to record further milestones in the coming period and retain a Speculative Buy.

True, Perhaps the concern that the figures may attract unnecessary attention from interested competing parties

I believed all the figures would be disclosed for SC approval and then in the EGM later this year

By then, it would be too late to buy at mouth watering prices as now

sona surely has actual figures todate and projection figures for 2014. there must be reasons for not releasing until the deal is done

Perhaps, the figures are too good to release until the deal is in the bag

By now, Sona should have 6 months till end June 2014, projection for the year is much easier

Based on analysts report in the Star, the expected IRR is in the region of 15% is a superb good return = quite similar to first generation IPP that makes billions over a decade

Now is an opportunity to buy cheappy than wait later for all figures to be released. Perhaps by then all funds would be rushing and snapping at crazy prices.

Sona needs a good IR (which currently not there) to explain and clarify its investment in detail. Otherwise, it gets the wrong market perception. In this area, SONA did not do a good job.
