US’ Seeburger enters Malaysia via Time tie-up

KUALA LUMPUR: Seeburger, a US-based business integration solutions provider, has appointed Time Engineering Bhd as its first reseller and implementation partner in Malaysia.

The two companies signed a strategic partnership agreement recently, which gives Seeburger a presence in the Malaysian market and increases its reach in the Asia Pacific region.

The US firm already has a presence in countries like China, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia. However, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Seeburger Asia Pacific Ltd managing director James Hatcher said the company has been aggressively looking for local partners and decided on Time Engineering as it believes that Malaysia would play a crucial role in the Southeast Asian economy.

“The International Monetary Fund forecast for Asean countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam projects 5.4 per cent growth this year and 5.7 per cent next year, with Malaysia’s gross domestic product growth expected to be 5.5 per cent.

“Malaysia plays a pivotal role in the Southeast Asian economy, and we have been aggressively searching for local partners with the right mix of offerings to pair with our technologies,” he said in a statement posted on Seeburger’s website.

Furthermore, he said Time Engineering’s emphasis on e-commerce and trade facilitation, strong customer base, particularly in the government sector, and integration expertise make it an ideal candidate.

Time Engineering chief executive officer Steven Lim said Seeburger’s extensive suite of business integration tools can deliver efficiencies as well as data protection that are critical in today’s complex business environment. They are also backed by over 25 years of successful deployment in some of the largest companies in the world.

“This partnership marks a valuable expansion of our service offering that will benefit both our subsidiaries and clients by automa-ting core business process safely, securely and reliably,” he said.

According to the statement, Time Engineering’s technology focus includes a robust e-commerce portfolio with trade facilitation tools that electronically connect banks, port authorities and permit issuing agencies as well as the Royal Malaysian Customs to support the country’s strong international trade business.
