To jeffchan1901 and stkoay. Your asset diversification is diverse. And I would say they are very liquid and can easily convert into cash rather fast in case of urgent needs. And also have a free choice to select which class of asset to dispose for cash. Asset liquidity is the key here.

At 9.70 as of now, without dividend given out, the price is RM10.01. That is incredible indeed.

@prudentinvestor. You have the point. At RM10 and current dividend payout of at least 60 cents, its yield is much higher than fixed deposit, Amanah Saham Nasional funds and EPF's dividend. Until its yield is moving closer to these funds return, then we can call it a day due to the risk factor.

How GTronic venture into India could be fruitful yet to be seen. Many companies that invest in India ends up badly ultimately.

@xxxx. May be you wish to elaborate how MBB could down badly after ex date. Assuming prior to ex date MBB closing price is 9.80, of course its ex date price will be 9.49. This is below 9.50 like what you said. Is this bad? Anyway, everyone wishes any stock price could stay higher.

@Tanleechoo. You are right. Execution is more important with the action plan in place. The new board comes from diverse experiences but new to semiconductor related industry. It takes time to pick up the crucial industrial experience and network. How fast they can put their plans into action is crucial.

Follow your strategy of buying Maybank that suits your needs. And refine your strategy over time to maximise your return. No single formula can say it all.

mhlee02001. There is no exact answer to your question. If you plan to hold long and consistently accumulating the share, I believe it does not matter whether you buy before ex or after ex date if you expect the economy to stay stable. And also if the company expects to perform satisfactorily in coming years, its price will gradually move up over the long haul. My 2 cents opinion.

No doubt new chairman is young, but they are in different business fields. It will take a while for the new team to learn about the semiconductor industry. Whether they can make make it or not remains a question because technology changes too fast. Keep an eye on the next few quarters to derive some clues.

Hardly seen any turnaround for the business soon. Management's excuses on poor business performance are always the same. They should at least put forward some concrete plans to boost revenue and bottomline. Let's see what directions the new board members can bring.

Just ignore him and focus on continue developing Malaysia. When every plan is on correct pathway and generates satisfactory result, the people will know who is right and who is wrong.

Probably EPF also lock in profit so that it can declare promising dividend by the end of next month.

@Tanleechoo. You are right. I saw that the Company keeps issuing ESOS to rewward its employee. But at the same time, the Company's performance such as revenue and profitability keeps dropping. Should they receive ESOS under such circumstances? Questionable.

Over the years, Zhulian does not seem to receover from slowing business growth and profit. No new products are offered or any potential new business joint ventures to bring the company forward. Wonder how long the Company can continue to stay ahead of other competitors and changes in the industry.

Agreed with most of the recent postings here. Revenue and profit keeps dropping but the Company continues to pay dividend above its EPS. That will slowly but surely dilute the company's cash holdings. However, substantial shareholders cum directors will be more happy to keep receiving dividends and other perks.

@stokay: You are right. Looking at the large volume shares disposed by those Organization, it is clear that they are selling to lock in profits for dividend distribution. After all this exercise finishes, Maybank’s share price should gradually moving northward again.

8.90 is so near to its latest ex price exercise of 8.89 if not mistaken.

The question is how far the share price of Gtronic is moving downward since its later business performance is not encouraging as well for the past few quarters. Unless there is a good prospect that the company is launching new products or boosting revenue of existing products, its share price is not going anywhere.

It was reported the new shareholder is sending a representative to the board of Gtronic. However, the basic truth is there is no synergistic value between 2 companies as they are in different industries at all. I believe this is why the share price of both companies tanked these 2 days.

Need to observe tomorrow's price movement as today's transcated volume is very high as compared to past few weeks. Seem that either buying interest was there or investors were busy averaging their holding cost.

New seller proposed to buy at RM2 per share but GTronic's share price turned south and nose dived after early morning gain. Probably most investors did not seem to like the proposed acquisition because there is no business synergistic value.

Read the article about possible emergence of a significant shareholder. Heard the news circulating in Penang that shares being bought at around RM2+. If this is true, the company share price has some upward momentum to go.

Buying support seems to be hovering around 1.66 onwards for the past few days. Today's pricing moving upward a bit breaking the 1.70 level. Something seems to be cooking.

Maybank is a good company to invest for long term. Its profit and dividend payout over the past 10 years of so are commendable as compare to other listed companies. Spreading the risk depend on one's investment objective. No one single model suits all. Stick to what strategy one is comfortable with.

Even though placing fund in bank also comes with limited risk. Remember bank only insure one's fund up to a maximum of RM250k? Any amount above that threshold is your risk to bear.

I agree with stkoay on the return percentile calculation. A smart investor will look deeper into the return instead of the surface number. Anyway, all investment come with risks except placing money in bank. One must have the appetite to digest risks once start investing in equity market.

At 11.16am, Maybank's price moves back to its Sep 14 pre-ex price of 9.12. It takes about close to 2 months for Maybank to reach this 9.12. Awesome. Those investors who hold receives "free" money so called.

At least something even though its result is below expectation. Not making loss with a tiny profit so far.
