Hope Maybank can produce some good results as compare to previous quarter since our economy is fully opened. This should also give some positive leads to other financial institutions business performance as well.

stockraider: Inflation is good for banking whereas recession is not loh!
So if u invest in banking when recession strike....be prepare for about 2 years share price consolidation mah!
Yup. You are right. In recession, all sectors affected and their share price as well. If you intend to invest for long haul, it is also the time to buy into some good companies. Normally, equity market will move ahead first when economy starts recovering.

Recession of inflation? It is normal in any economic cycle. It comes and goes. Just be ready with your funds when the market turns south. Wealth is made or break during turbulent and prosperous period. This is the "window of opppotunity" for those who are prepared and ready. Stick to your investment strategy at your own comfort. My 2 cents opinion.

Chon88: Good points. DickyMe: Also good questions raised. Unless we are big time investors like those retirement fund manager or private equity firms, we could ask for a non disclosure meeting with the Company for a briefing to get a much detail company's development before committing any investment. But as a retail investor, there is/are so much information we could gather to at least reach our own view on the company. Right? Good or bad is up to one to decide.

Have to remember that those companies making huge profit in 2021 have to pay the 2021 prosperity tax of 33% for chargeable income made above $100 million. I guess they need to consider such payment to Jabatan Hasil Dalam Negeri and keep aside some extra funds for such purpose.

Helping the not so well being EPF contributors should come in other forms such as restructuring the economic structure, upgrading skills, more high added value employment opportunities etc to help improve contributor's earning and as such higher EPF contribution.

The writer suggestion seems like Robinhood, "robbing" the rich and "rescue" the not so rich. Every EPF contributor works hard to make a living and contribute towards the retirement fund fairly according to their earning capability. Their contribution should be treated equally in respect on dividend to be received. Else, contributor should have a choice to park their retirement fund somewhere else to earn higher return.

Wonder what is the testing number? Reporting low cases itself does not mean anything if there is no relative comparison. Again, with a population of over 200+ million and only hundreds cases, they must have been doing a superb job of containing the virus. Countries around the world should learn from Indonesia. Any??

Foreign investors will be wondering when they are going to be taxed again in the near future when the country needs funding. This is their primary concern. Investors will be worry from time to time from now on. If I am the investor, I will go somewhere else where the country's policy is more certain and consistent. It makes business planning much easier.

Thought that they are already millions of foreign workers in Malaysia. And yet these employers still want more? These employers simply want a quick solution to boost their bottom line only. Why can't they look into modernizing their operations and count less on foreign workers? Simple. They do not want to invest to upgrade themselves. Malaysia cannot afford to keep importing unlimited foreign workers. Sooner their numbers will outnumber us Malaysian.

Old man talks and complains a lot. KJ has done a very good job so far. What can you expect he could do in one month? Even the former DAP Finance Minister cannot do his job months into his role. Talk is always cheap as normally used by politicians. KJ just perform his duties and does not complain. So better shut up and enjoy your golden days.

If he runs Maybank, I would definitely sell my shares. He only goes for popular votes and he only cares how to glorify himself/gain more votes. How foreign investors feel by investing in Malaysia. Pretty scary huh. Who knows one day he will come out with a policy that all shareholders must give their shares to the government because the government is short of fund. Funny right.

It is going to a tough PM chair to sit as no single party holds majority. The coalition will fall when any one party decides to pull their string of support. Just like what our former PM faced. So even though UMNO candidate becomes PM, it simply cannot do what they like in old time.
