Profit is not so important for mgnt in glc i.e fgv, mas, proton, iwk etc. 1st, they enjoy monopoly, 2nd their capital are not coming from hard works but people's money or resource of this country. It's free in a sense, they just need to sell it. The mgnt top kpi is support gov, for performance: TRY to make money, but if failed just giv a reasonable excuse. You can see this in proton & mas & even DRBHicom.
So ... don bother ask if who's who heading glc will serve the shareholders profit. The shareholders is gov kaki which also enjoy power rather than profit. They just want ctrl pwr and don't bother how fxckup their performance looks. This's why 1 SGD can exchg for 3.1 RM.
... why we still buy such fxckup glc share. Everyone know the ans: we just buying opportunity waiting for public fund to push up the price.
If not tnb & tm exposed to foreign loan & investment, it'll end up like fgv.

Well, I reminded many times why fgv won't get privatized. fgv was form when najib gov at helm,giv has a hand in this initiative. If they delisted now it shows gov failure ... and it's close to GE now. Privatization is definitely the best option, in fact a win-win to share holder and those politic cartels. Just because of the political reason mentioned abv, they definitely won't be privatized now ... may be after GE.

So many counters need to be saved. In these glc ... fgc are one of those that is not easy to prop up. So I guess at best just keep them alive, even after consider this's incentive for GE counters.

1. FGV sucks but CPO good. Let say idiot are 80% worse then counterpart, they still manage to show 'green color' in their report card next few quarters.

2. FGV got bunch of gov friendly fund to support, when everyone jump out of Titanic and Jack died, these funds will slowly prop up the price to 'reasonable' value, which I guess is still sub-par but definitely >= 1.80

3. If all hell break loose, FGV is sold (from gov left hand to right hand) or worse delisted (unlikely, b'cse najib no face), it'll definitely solf > 1.90 given their asset & intrinsic values.

I underestimated the waterfall model, I still buy some at 1.78. It's my mistakes. But longterm wise, it's time to collect ... if you still have 'bullets'.
