In terms of taxes and penalties arising from GST audit/investigations for the same period, it was about SGD 1.5 billion, based on official statistics.

ozzie75 I think the GST contribution over the 20 years' span as indicated below is understated. Official statistics by their tax department indicated that GST standalone contributed SGD 71 billion between 2002 - 2014, as opposed to the claimed +/-$100m.

benasher In Spore, GST was introduced in 1994. In 2009/2010 (after 15 years), the gomen collected S$154m gst fines. My fren (audit/tax partner) said last year (after 20 years) they collected +/-S$100m. The cake is still there!!! IFCA just need to be innovative....so far their SAAs idea is good..
