I have to agree with SHQuah with this. Focus is key importance over many jobs that may dilute profitability. But the LRT3, once a darling in Gkent's pipeline until Pakatan took over - so the profit margin has gone considerably smaller. Being a small player also means they can only afford a small margin of error. Any delay, any mishaps or mishandling large project is very risky to their business. JAKS couldn't deliver The Star building and see what they got into? In fact, I always wonder why they even want to commit such large project until I realize, if my golf buddy request it plus a promise of a handsome return, why not? More Wahyu Beef for me.

Reported lower revenue but higher net profit - the company seems to be managing their costing extensively but did little to improve their core products. I have stressed the importance not to rely too much on secondary profit and to see them only as bonuses.

To add pressure, they keep throwing out cash in dividends to keep stakeholders happy yet trying to keep market value from going south so they kept buying back their shares. While they are still in net value which is a consolation, they need to strengthen their moat or create new blue oceans. The rest is hearsay, like all these comments. The only comment I listen too now is found in financial sheets.

PE stands for Price to Earnings and if Papparich is here, it means good news is coming =)

They key factor of growth is moat! Moat is the reason what kept Nike, Google and etc up. With good moat, revenues should either sideline or show signs of of growth. If you chart Gkent's revenue, it is a yo-yo not a linear upwards. Revenues tells the story of growth not profitability. Profitability tells the story of managing costing.

Another factor also is China is competing in the same metering metering. Don't believe me? Just type this in google: Water Meter Alibaba. Tell me where's the moat? China even recently created a digital prepaid water meter which automatically cuts off after limit is hit.

P/E doesn't mean a thing these days. Google P/E is about 28 and yet, the company is constantly has reported strong growth. So that brings it down to only 2 strong point. Net cash and a hopeful construction revenues plus a dividend to keep customer's happy. With this 2 points, you can tell pretty much the kind of Investors here.

FCF yield has dropped 5.6%, their PEG (price to earnings) now at 1.26 which a mildly bad. Yes they are using cash flow to stabilize the market, so selling eases a little. However, Q2Q has declined 12.47% and their digital metering still at infant stage. That is why analyst are lowering the price target each quarter. Upside, there is a technical support at 0.98. Once concessions end, Government will do just like what they did for Proton, invite China's pharma which is ranked 2nd in the world. Owning nothing, I am not worried at all.

RM126 Million in trade volume? I have never seen the likes of this. This is a super bull charging. Just buy and hold tight tight. This company is heading back to strong green.

@slts this is true. Fair value is RM4.90 so now that it is RM2.33, it means it is below value. So it is a good time to add more.

While it's true that government will end concession with Pharma, it may also be true that the government can award to Pharma if is it deem to provide competitive price. Another important factor is supply chain which Pharma has vast experience with this.

I believe gov seeking to lower medical price and this could be a good way to do it. Pharma has been in the industry for many years so to wipe them off just like that, I don't think so.


There's a but though....

In terms of fundamental, Pharma debt-equity is of concern which is well not healthy. Also, the ROE over the years has been less than mediocre often between 1 - 3%. This is because despite high revenue returns, the margin for medicine is razor thin. So with the concessionaire pull out, you can expect the net margin will take another hit. To succeed, Pharma can't just concentrate of distribution chain alone but need to focus on generic medication to stay ahead.

So in view of both good and bad, you can pump or dump if you are the balls of King Kong. For Pappa, I will not touch this counter. If you want to be contrarian, you can go ahead and fight the tides. I don't like to fight tides anyway. I find it is easier to ride along with them :)

Yes, I did calculation and fair value will triple as power plant near completion ahead of schedule. Even consolidation period, so many refuse to sell. That is why this is going to be the next most company to watch.
