KUALA LUMPUR (May 23): Pos Malaysia Bhd's net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2017 (4QFY17) fell 26% to RM10.64 million, from RM14.35 million a year ago, as the group paid more tax and incurred higher cost of sales and operating expenses.

Revenue for the quarter, however, grew 47% to RM635.55 million in 4QFY17, from RM433.64 million last year.

Its cost of sales and operating expenses grew 49% year-on-year to RM620.52 million, from RM416.36 million, its income statement filed with Bursa Malaysia today showed, while it paid 37% more tax or RM13.39 million in the quarter, compared with RM9.78 million previously.

If I were them, I won't want to let loose too many corporate announcements at this point in time. Let the market digest all the news first, then let out some other good news when hype dies down. That's if I wanted long term growth of the stock price.
