John thanks for your input, but I think shouldn't bother with this guy too much, many different type of players in the market, investor should behave like investor, speculator behave like speculator... just wish everyone well

Does BPLANT operating cost includes Palm Oil tax, cess, levy and duty?

Dear John/SLee or anyone else from the industry, just want to understand it correctly, if I am wrong, please correct me, thanks

But based on Oil extraction rate = CPO (160k MT) / FFB (675k MT) = 23.7% OER, which is higher than industry norm of 21%, seems like they processed almost all FFB into CPO.
2021-12-13 11:08 | Report Abuse
After being stripped from the FFB, the palm fruit is processed into two main products: Crude Palm Oil (CPO), which is extracted from the mesocarp or flesh of the fruit, and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO), which comes from the hard seed in the centre. The first step is to press the fruit, which squeezes CPO from its mesocarp.
BPLANT has mills so they don't need to sell FFB, just sell the PKO and CPO

We understand land in BPLANT is undervalued below replacement cost, but to compare with Singapore land value of RM416m per acre is a stretch, do share which parcel of land own by BPLANT can be valued at this RM416m per acre?

Thanks, just wanted to understand the intention of the IB's, it seems very profitable for IB to do call-warrants, and I think they prefer industries and companies with low competition in volatility.

Guys, like to seek better understanding of MBB Warrant, after reading online.
As mentioned by Asia88
The call price is set at 0.68, but there is a another cost price of 0.185 so the share price must go above 0.865 one year later for you to make money right?
And this cost price of 0.185, I can see it fluctuates, MBB is the Chonker/House since they are the issuer of 100m of this lots, so they basically have most control this cost price right? They can always slowly inflate this cost price to 0.50 or 1.00 too right?
Is my understanding correct?

Callme777, I think it’s good to be clear why you want to invest in Palm Oil/BPLANT, good to do more research, there is so much data/news on Oilseed, etc., it will make your decision Buy/Hold/Sell more steady. You really can't depend on this forum to give you the answer...

I think the concern is if Next Gen Oil can pay or not, but to me its 1,000 acres, I won't lose sleep over it...

This forum is to observe the views and opinions for your own consideration (No one can accurately predict it’s a sell or buy). Have to do your own research, and make your own judgement.
And I feel we shouldn’t chase away the Naysayers or Cheerleaders, someday they may drop a point that we all missed.

why comment targeting Parkson? That is getting personal, this forum should just focus on the company

The algae oil project looks to me like a white elephant too, but isn't the MOU signed with Boustead Holdings instead of Boustead Plantation, besides using land, there are no news how this project will affect Boustead Plantation right?
2021-03-22 09:35 | Report Abuse
There were investors who want to buy up Boustead, but I think not approved by management, LTAT hold more than 51% shareholdings

Parkson guy, companies mostly don't revalue their land in the financial report

Mikecyc might be right, 3 important directors moving to BPLANT, I think is not just to digitalise on plantation, I think there might be more bigger reasons, which is good for BPLANT & investors & shareholders.

I feel the key thing to watch is can they improve their production in the coming year. Production increase will impact on the Revenue thus the profits, price won't always be this high.

Now oil seeds are beginning their bull run after past few years of bear run… This is not crude oil, demand won't peaked for decades to come, population is growing, but land is getting scarce, and weather getting erratic… Maybe I am in the minority, but what other investment more stable than land and food???
2020-12-29 11:17 | Report Abuse
I don’t see an incentive for them to buy back the stock, as they control majority of the stock.
1. They can still make majority of the profits
2. Listing again isn’t so easy
3. They can do many share “magic” if it’s listed
4. For minority shareholders, we lose out if they privatise, because most likely the offer price is way below the real value of the company
Just my two cents…

Mikecyc, has BPLANT offended you? Your Gearing Ratio is incorrect...
Total Equity = 2,460,019
Total Debt = 1,267,154
Gearing Ratio = 0.51
Debt also decreased close to 100million this year, I got a feeling they are under reporting their income...

To each his own, on their views and opinions, BPLANT made a decision few years ago to buy lots of land, incurring debts, mine humble view:
1. Land might be slightly above fair value, but it is LAND, better than cash, so when they leveraged got funds and buy land, I think overall good decision, and please pray tell which currency in the world is worth having, all are FIAT money…
2. What are the chances of BPLANT defaulting?
- As long as CPO is above RM2.2k they are able to maintain production of 60k MT of CPO per quarter, they can cover the interest
- Indonesia & Malaysia don’t have lots of new land for growing palm oil, population is growing, food demand will also grow, thus CPO in long term will be on uptrend
- They have more than 224 hectares of ripe land for development, which eventually can be used to pare down the debts, or hopefully can look to buy more land!!
Buying land is a long term play, and it is not easy to buy land now, I think the rich know, money is getting smaller now, so ppl put a very high price on their land/asset, and even got buyer they still not willing to sell. To me investing in BPLANT is investing in Land, and Land that will continue to bring returns…

Too much Debt can be a very serious concern for some companies, but for BPLANT, Debt that they are able to repay it, and unlikely to default (because unlike some businesses that have overcapacity, CPO might have a structural supply issue over next few years, and they have LTAT behind them), and Debt that they used to invest in Land, and not airplanes or cruise ships, and pls take note that BPLANT is a very old company, they have not revalued their land for a long time, I do not believe the real NTA is only RM1.14...
2020-08-27 17:31 | Report Abuse
there are so many billionaires, I think who would not mind to pay RM1.20 or much higher for BPLANT, their asset is land, scarce, and can create value, but I doubt BPLANT/LTAT would agree to sell, they might want to privatise it, cash is no longer king, I think land is the new king
