Prospects are good...think of the steps taken ie JV consortium, new MRT ceo, foreign work permit boss as new shareholder etc...etc... + gadang is a well run profitable co.

Announcement by legal/regulatory to avoid uma. Does not change fact of consortium and bid prospects.

@stockmanmy I think what dizzy meant is if they voluntarily wound the company up. Receivers would only come in if the company was on the verge of insolvency i.e. tak boleh bayar hutang and kena sue. Of course, if that happens all hell will break loose and you know la...what will happen to the share price & NTA.

@Mat Cendana Very sensible observation. Today (and perhaps even tomorrow) will see a knee jerk reaction from those who didn't fully understand the announcement (or were forced into selling). Raise funds with no interest exposure in order to finance projects and land acquisitions (which we've all wanted them to do anyway). Plus all of this would need the approval of......you guessed it.....the shareholders. If anything, just buy on dips and wait. Oh....and there's the dividends as well....

Guys, the claimant is suing for RM796k LAD and RM120mil for loss of profits. Anybody who understands contract suits & civil procedure will know that loss of profits are VERY rarely awarded. Susah to prove and too remote for the arbitrators to issue an award. How can they prove those profits will be earned? Was it foreseeable when the contract was entered into with EMSB? How is it quantified? etc.

Claimants usually do this to scare the other side into settling.

EMSB's claim OTOH appears to be for work carried out but not paid for. It was made before IRDK's claim. Sure looks like IRDK is trying trump up a lawsuit to pressure EMSB.

IMO, this claim is unlikely to succeed. EMSB will resolve this and those of you who panicked today......well, jangan susah hati la.
