Hibiscus Petroleum aims to produce up to 12,000 bbl of oil per day by 2020

PETALING JAYA (Dec 4): Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd said it is working towards achieving net production of between 10,000 and 12,000 barrels (bbl) of oil per day for both its Anasuria cluster and North Sabah Production Sharing Contract by the end of FY20.

The group is currently producing up to 9000 bbls per day for both, its managing director Dr Kenneth Pereira said.

For FY19, the company intends to deliver total oil production attributable to the group of about 2.7 to 3 million barrels of oil (mmbbls).

On capital expenditure, Pereira said the group will be spending close to RM200 million on the two fields for FY19.

"We will be spending about US$30 million this year on development at Anasuria, whereas we will spend about RM70 million for North Sabah," Pereira told reporters at a media briefing, after the group's annual general meeting earlier today.

As at Sept 30, 2018, the group has total cash balances of RM302 million and operates with no debt.

However Pereira said the group does not discount the possibility of debt or equity fundraising in the near future.

At noon close, shares of Hibiscus closed down 2 sen or 1.85% to RM1.06, for a market value of RM1.68 billion.

Reach Energy Berhad (“REB”) is pleased to announce positive results of testing of the Exploration Well, North Kariman-3 (NK-3), in its Emir Oil Concession Block onshore Kazakhstan.
The well penetrated the target Mid-Triassic carbonate reservoirs, reaching a total depth of 4140.66 m. The NK-3 well has been safely and successfully executed as budgeted.
The NK-3 well encountered oil bearing intervals in the Mid-Triassic, based on log interpretations. The well was then perforated and stimulated, resulting with oil flow to surface. This will contribute significantly to REB’s reserves. In addition, reservoir pressure from the NK-3 well was determined to be relatively high compared with surrounding wells, and this suggests that it would be a highly productive well once it is put on production. Emir-Oil is now proceeding to apply for a test production license to further ascertain the commercial viability of this well.
There are two shallower intervals that will be perforated in the future once the test production of the aforementioned interval is completed. If they prove to flow oil, this would further enhance the value of this well in terms of commerciality and contribution to overall reserves and production.
The NK-3 well was spudded on 10 February 2018, and is the 1st of the 6 exploration well commitment of the current Exploration Contract.
Ir. Shahul Hamid Bin Mohd Ismail, CEO of Reach Energy Berhad commented;
“We are reaping the benefits of strategic planning of exploration wells, as we have prioritized high “chance of success” wells that can be swiftly linked into our existing production network and contribute to our revenue stream in the near term. The NK-3 well certainly fits the bill, as its relative close proximity to the Kariman field would allow for a seamless integration into commercial production once we obtain the Production License for the North Kariman field. This process is ongoing and proceeding as planned, as we expect to obtain the North Kariman Production License in 2019.”
