KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 26): QES Group Bhd expects market value to increase threefold in the next 3-5 years as it bets on China and Asean for revenue growth, Managing Director Chew Ne Weng says in interview in Kuala Lumpur.

* The company supplies inspection, testing, measuring, analytical and automated handling equipment, and is a distributor for Nikon and Hitachi products, according to its website

* The company will spend RM10 million to set up laboratory showrooms in Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia by 2020 after opening one in Thailand last week, its first outside Malaysia

** The company plans to sell more equipment to China where it sees strong growth

* QES can comfortably report revenue growth of 5%-8% over next three years

** Gross margin seen stable at 25% over this period

* The company has recurring annual income of RM40 million from its more than 10,000 equipment installed

* QES’s market value is RM261.6 million, with RM15 million net income and RM190.9 million revenue last year: Bloomberg

Atleast for face sake, the company should have declared atleast a 1 cent dividend.

Let me explain to the Great Accountants who were accounting yesterday. I respect you guys for your skill. But you must know what counter or stock you are dealing with. Negative goodwill is like a house you propose to buy at 100k. But due to some hurdle or presumed that the house is haunted which you don’t know, the sellers offer you 70k. You buy it but can you say that you are richer than 30k? You may use up the 30k to halau the hantu, right?!

Negative goodwill is an intangible asset. Only on paper.No real hard cash.

The profit shown is a Real Money?? I doubt and that is the only reason for not declaring dividend.

All those negative goodwill is just on paper only or otherwise intangible assets. Where is actual money?
All the rest of profit used for expansion and if anything unfortunate events, all boom. Ikan bilis suffer only.
