Edaran bags RM149.97m info systems upgrade contract from Customs

KUALA LUMPUR(Oct 24): Edaran Bhd has bagged an RM149.97 million contract from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, for the enhancement of the department’s information systems.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Edaran said that Customs has accepted the proposal by its subsidiary Edaran IT Services Sdn Bhd to undertake the service continuity project of “Sistem Maklumat Kastam” for two years with effect from September 2017.

Edaran said that the contract has significant effect on its earnings per share (EPS) for the financial year ending June 30, 2018, in which the EPS is estimated to increase by 16 sen.

Edaran IT is a full-fledged IT services and solutions provider company, providing end-to-end IT system solutions that include the provisioning, installation, commissioning, integration and maintenance of IT systems and related services.

In 2015, Edaran IT was appointed by Customs as a national single window service provider.

Aside from Customs, other major customers of Edaran IT include the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shariah Judiciary Department Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Prime Minister’s Department, Science, Technology and Innvoation Ministry, and the Inland Revenue Board.

Edaran’s share price closed up 1.5 sen or 7.14% at 22.5 sen, for a market capitalisation of RM13.03 million.
