Anger over Malaysia’s announcement that MH370 fell with no survivors has moved across the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand where a passenger’s wife was alerted via text message.

Sara Weeks, the sister of Paul Weeks, in an interview with local media said the situation has been handled “appallingly, incredibly insensitively”.

Paul’s wife Danica received a text message from Malaysia Airlines, while Sara got the news at 3.30am via a phone call from her mother who did not want Sara to hear it on the news.

“Everyone is angry about it.

“The Malaysian government, the airline, it’s just all been incredibly poor.

“Who’s to say they can’t locate the airline the day it happened?” she is quoted as saying.

She also said that information was withheld from families and took very long to get through.

This follows acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein’s appeal for calm from families.

He also commended Australian families, whom he said had been responding to the tragedy in a “rational” manner.

Looking at the big number of buyers and the steady increase in shares price, I can only conclude that someone has definitely in control of the game now. He had sapu all those cheap shares under 1.25 and is ready to buy up all the way.

Just bought 159,600 shares at 1.40, looking at >$2.00

"Government of Malaysia, tell us the truth! Give us back our loved ones!" shouted audience members at today's briefing at the hotel attended by government officials.

The hotel has hosted daily briefings for relatives from representatives of the airline.

"The Malaysian government is deceiving us. They don't dare to face us. The Malaysian government are the biggest murderers," a relative in the audience shouted, even though there was no evidence to suggest a government conspiracy.

As anger in the hall mounted, some relatives rushed towards the Malaysian officials but police intervened and the officials left the room.

"We can't bear it any longer," one woman said.

"They're offering us compensation, but we've lost our entire families. This is China. They can't just tell us to come or go as they please. We're going to wait here. If they don't come, we're not leaving."

Xinhua: Malaysian Handling of Missing Jet is ‘Intolerable’

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak (center) addresses the media during a press conference on Saturday.
Agence France-Presse/Getty Images
If Malaysian authorities thought the disclosure of more information about missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370 would earn them credit with China, they were mistaken.
In an editorial brimming with reproach and frustration, China’s official Xinhua news agency accused the Malaysian government of “dereliction of duty,” calling the Southeast Asian nation’s failure to release information more fully and quickly “intolerable.”

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Saturday said that satellite data showed the Boeing 777 had veered off course and remained airborne for at least six hours after disappearing from Malaysian military radar. He also said that investigators believe the plane went missing as the result of “deliberate action” and that it had likely flown along one of two corridors: one arcing southwest along the Indian Ocean, the other northwest skirting China’s border and into Central Asia.

Mr. Najib’s comments were the first definitive statement from the Malaysian government on how the jet came to vanish on March 8.
In its commentary, Xinhua said the new information was valuable in helping narrow the scope of the search, but slammed Malaysia for waiting more than seven “excruciating days” to release it.
Due to the delay, it said, “massive efforts have been squandered, and numerous rumors have been spawned, repeatedly racking the nerves of the awaiting families.”
“Given today’s technology,” it continued, “the delay smacks of either dereliction of duty or reluctance to share information in a full and timely manner. That would be intolerable.”
Xinhua said Malaysia bears “inescable responsibility” as leader of the search effort. It also criticized Boeing and “intelligence superpower” the U.S., saying they “should also have done a better job.”
Beijing has come under pressure from relatives of the Chinese passengers, who made up the majority of the 239 people on board Flight 370, to do more to find the plane. It has also been criticized for releasing information that led search efforts astray, including a handful of satellite images that it said showed a possible crash site. Search teams rushed to the site but found no debris there, and China later said the images should have never been published.

Hi ulutrader, I noticed that HEVEA-WB volume used to be a lot bigger than HEVEA. But for the past few days, this trend is reversed. Look at the quotes now. HEVEA 209,700 shares and HEVEA-WB only 44,100 shares done. This shows that an accumulation is underway in HEVEA and not HEVEA-WB

Not really ulutrader. Yes, based on Jholow's article, HEVEA is A LOT BETTER than Pohuat. But a stock's market performance and financial performance of a company are entirely two different thing all together.

Long term, I am confident that Hevea will trump Pohuat and even Latitud. Hope I am proven right in a year's time

Please sense the feeling on the ground of both Hevea and POHUAT. Go read both their postings for the past one year to start with. You will notice that most of the time or for some days No One talk in the POHUAT thread, while that's not the case in Hevea thread. What I am trying to say is that the retailers' following on POHUAT is a lot lesser than Hevea. Consequently the reason why POHUAT's volume can suddenly disappear.

Stock

2014-03-06 22:02 | Report Abuse

That's not a fair statement Mr. Ulu. Today POHUAT's rise may excite you but tomorrow or the days after it may extricates you from this excitement as the volume can suddenly die off. And POHUAT has done this many times before, the latest was just 2-3 weeks ago.
