KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Investment Bank Bhd bought 19.5 million shares of AirAsia X Bhd on Wednesday under the price stabilisation mechanism.

Maybank IB, which is the stabilising manager, bought the shares at RM1.25 each, it said on Thursday.

Shares of AirAsia X closed unchanged at RM1.25, which was the institutional price.

AirAsia X offers employees more shares

PETALING JAYA (June 20 2013): AirAsia X Bhd has bumped up its share offers to its own employees as well as extended it to employees of parent AirAsia Bhd, a day before the long-haul, budget airline is due to close the retail portion of its initial public offering (IPO), say sources close to the company.

It is understood that middle management employees of AirAsia X, who were initially offered some 30,000 shares, received eleventh-hour offers for 50,000 shares more. AirAsia employees, meanwhile, were sent emails informing them of their eligibility to subscribe to the shares at the same time.

According to one source, emails were sent out to staff of AirAsia on Monday morning, with instructions to send in their applications for shares by the end of the day.

The move is believed to make up for the shortfall in subscription for the retail portion, which closes today.

Goldman fully subcribes for DVM rights issue

KUALA LUMPUR: DVM Technology Bhd's managing director Datuk Goh Kian Seng says Goldman Sachs, the US-based international investment banking group, has fully subscribed for the company's rights issue.

"It's a big boost for our morale that Goldman is directly banking on us," he said in a statement yesterday.

Goldman surprisingly emerged as a substantial shareholder in DVM this year.

It has a seven per cent stake in DVM, which is an IT solutions and service provider.

All the shares were bought from the open market.

Goh said DVM would soon sit down and discuss with Goldman a plan of (share) ex-change to take DVM's market capitalisation to the next level. Bernama
