No doubt AA is ripe for a correction,not surprised at all. currently well supported at 280.

However this might have been extrapolated as the broader KL market is also undergoing a correction.

For one, as an online reader who needs to judge carefully who to believe, i tend to skip to the next comment when i see BWC/Investo.

Almost like auto pilot.

no one is over promoting anything. AAC is such an old news already. Even EPF raised their stake from 4.5% to around 5.5% now No one here is shouting buy buy buy. we're just saying why AA is not a bad stock. As pointed out, big picture has improved since last week and sentiment should improve steadily going forward. Positive on AA but would continue to warn against comments over-promoting the short term upside from expected AAC sale.

You are clearly contradicting yourself with bad intentions in this forum. Why speak of AAC deal if you're speaking based on technical? The way i see it TA wise its on a strong uptrend and i have nothing to fret about with such low volume selling. Selldown? what selldown? Be my guest and buy your loss making companies then.

Whatever your intentions are, you will never get back your 2.50 at this point.

Bottomline : strong uptrend with local and foreign fund support. AAC sale is just the cherry on the topping. No issues FA wise, clearly undervalued business as a whole.

EPF used to hold 11% in 2011 at a peak price of close to RM4

2017 is gonna be a great year. AAC monetization, oil price which is going no where, new routes, new planes, more capacity. EPF is not missing out on this.

Ride the wave.

from past experience, EPF dont just stop at 5%. if the price is good, i estimate epf to pump in another 2%. Just 0.5% and the price up by 30c...for another 2% easily 330-350

meathere Banks cannot/did not give the dividend amount because even TF tried to be elusive when asked on the matter but at the same time he wants to rally support for AA and to paint a positive view and to give what investor wants to hear and expect. Hence he said there will be a dividend but gave a caveat is really up to the board member to decide with the hint they (AA) would prefer to have more cash for AA reinvestment/pairing down/working capital.

So if you cannot read between the lines, don't expect the banks/IB to spell it out for you since they have their own vested interests as well so the report will always skewed.

I'm not in this for the high special div as opposed to the majority of punters here. yes im riding on this wave for now. but i would bank on the growth story post AAC. Precisely your point that with AAC being sold, AA will be leaner with lesser of the heavy baggage to worry about (depreciation, maintenance etc). you will get a RM7-8B company which generates profits of1-1.5b a year? (assuming current conditions persists). Quoting TF, yes a dividend from the sale is very likely but he prefers more cash than less cash (retained in the company that is)

AAC sale aside, dividends are the most tangible form of returns a business can give. Everything else is fugazi, fairy dust. Share prices are merely a quantifiable form of perception towards a company.

On the other hand, the AAC sale is exciting as it represents monetization of assets. On a long term time horizon, i would say its damn good business sense to monetize a non-core asset for such a high price. Albeit it not being the original intention of AAC to be spun off during its inception.

Icon was right. AA is definitely a low hanging fruit in the eyes of FF. KLCI bull run is great for AA.

Such low valuations. posibility of another 2bil profit in FY17 with fuel prices stuck in the 50s range. Post AAC this will be a leaner, meaner money churning machine.

What is your investment time horizon? and are the target returns achievable by then?
