sharktank : i dont think any stock could be a hedge in a meltdown. Even Bornoil. Only how badly hit it will be hit. You're not buying physical gold here, you're buying a piece of a business.

A time horizon of 1-3 months. 30-35c would be wonderful. On a conservative note, 25-30 range and i will be happy enough. Dont dream for 60c or 1.20 within the next few months.
Also, do keep in mind that the rally in gold prices started mainly in March and peaked at the end of June. Q2 imo will definitely be much better than Q1, provided management took profit on their inventory at the height of gold prices.

Major Asian index are all on a bull run. KLCI still lagging but green.
Only 10.30 am and already 80m shares traded. Expect minor correction due to huge buying volume last week. every dip is an opportunity to buy. Do you think the big boys who bought 100m+ last week are gonna settle for 1-2 sen gain?
I dont think so.

Asian markets along with FTSE100 futures seems to have stabalised, edging up to green now.
Doesnt seem like a technical reversal but more of markets stabilising.
Hope i'm right.

The human factor, greed, euphoria. When emotions surpass logical thinking. The illusion of quick riches.
No overseeing body nor restrictions will ever overcome this.

AWC hit 79 before a big correction right down to 67.5. Now at all time high of 83, all within the space of a month.
I believe similar rebound is due for AAB. knowing that its on 5 days of gradual decline with decreasing volume.

Good solid close. Healthy correction/consolidation.
In comparison, the magnitude of sell down from 2.7 t 2.55 is just not as great as the rally from 2.12 3 weeks ago.

As for airasia, might be a different story. I'm confident to ride the wave for now. had a good run past 2 weeks and its ripe for a correction. Let it consolidate.
I believe most of the downside has already been priced in. In my opinion the next quarter will speak volumes. A PE of 5? Should it be higher? You be the judge

KLSE has been on the longest bull run ever. tensions are high and confidence of investors are jittery.
Even most developed markets are expecting a huge crash to the point any reason is a good reason for a big crash. Speculation after speculation, and it will never end. Last year it was the China slowdown, then came Grexit and the rate hike.
Now its Brexit with US elections around the corner. In my opinion...as long as fundamentals are solid with respectable yields, there's nothing wrong to stay invested and prepare cash to average down in the event of a crash.
So far we're still hovering above 1600 which is a good sign, albeit the small caps have taken quite a beating over the last few months.

A scary proposition to be honest. But very probable and necessary.
" Countries that have invested in educating their populations, built strong consumer economies, and have democratic institutions that can deal with social change will benefit — because their people will have had their basic needs met and can figure out how to take advantage of the advances in technology."

Westgun, it is not easy to price in an event which cannot be forecasted due to its poor likelihood. No one predicted the hydrogen bomb test by North Korea, and no one could ever predict when a real war would happen. When it happens, then market will react on the news. At the moment, people are trying to speculate to drive the market the way they want. Until Obama announces the war, it's still a speculation.

NEVER put all your money in structured warrants.
Another tip, the higher the conversion ratio, the more volatile the price movement. One day you're up 20%, next day you're down 50%. I try to avoid high conversion ratio stuff.

Cashflow : I share your view.
Which is exactly the reason why there is such high risk involved. The market always has other plans. But if I were the bank I will take advantage of demand. Its not possible for us retailers to fight a financial institution with unlimited supply of bullets.
I suggest for future, try asking yourself what YOU THINK the index will be at MATURITY date. Then judge for yourself if the current price is too high/low.
Structured warrants are ALWAYS a gamble. you're essentially betting on a higher or lower index/stock price. You stand a 50/50 chance. If you're bullish get the CALLs.If youre bearish, get the PUTs.
Its called a "PREMIUM" for a reason.

For CALL : [ (exercise ratio x current price ) + current index = breakeven index
For PUT : [ (exercise ratio x current price ) - current index = breakeven index

Its a game of demand and supply. Try to think from the perspective of the bank.
The bank is not cheating anyone here, becoz they don't have an obligation to buy back at a higher price. Wait till maturity and you will receive your buy-in money together with the PROFITS in cash.
The price movements have nothing much to do with the bank. They are selling a product here. And traders like you get in and out speculating on future prices. That's explains the "correction"

On another note, this is a CASH SETTLED warrant.
The bank has no obligation to offer you an early exit via buying back the warrants.
