there are short term players and long term players. foreign fund managers are short term players and so are many retail players. they provide the market liquidity.
for fundamental players, you look at the value of the business.
for technical players, you look at the past and predict the future movements of the share.
there are some who kill people with his sure "value" share like pjdev-w, which had kill alot of people who goes in at rm1.00.
