Today's news is pushing (Asian) the oil price down below 50 but don't know how far it go down/up again tomorrow!.
Everywhere uncertainties!.
USD/Fed/Inventories/geopolitics/rig etc causing oil price up/down today/tomorrow - very volatile.
May be below/above 80 or 70 or 60, we don't know

1. INTRODUCTION

The Board of Directors of UMW Oil & Gas Corporation Berhad ("UMW-OG") is pleased to announce that UMW Offshore Drilling Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of UMW Malaysian Ventures Sdn. Bhd., which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UMW-OG has received a conditional Letter of Award from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. ("PCSB") for a contract for the provision of a Jack-Up Drilling Rig for PCSB.

2. DETAILS

The Contract is for the provision of Drilling Rig Services for PCSB's Drilling Programme, whereby UMW-OG Group will assign its UMW NAGA 6 for this contract. The Contract is for a duration of two (2) years with one (1) year option to extend.

UMW NAGA 6 is a premium independent-leg cantilever jack-up rig that has a drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and has a rated operating water depth of 375 feet.

3. INFORMATION ON PARTIES

3.1 Information on UMW Offshore Drilling Sdn Bhd ("UOD")

UOD was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 29 July 2003 and is principally involved in the offshore drilling business and operations and other engineering services for oil and gas exploration, development and production in Malaysia and overseas.

3.2 Information on PCSB

PCSB is a company incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 11 May 1978 and has its registered office at Tower 1, Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The principal activities of PCSB are the exploration, development and production of oil and gas.

4. FINANCIAL EFFECTS

The provision of the abovementioned drilling rig services is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of UMW-OG Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2016.

5. DIRECTORS AND SUBSTANTIAL SHAREHOLDERS INTEREST

None of the Directors and/or the substantial shareholders of UMW-OG and/or persons connected with the Directors and/or substantial shareholders have any interest, direct or indirect in the above.

6. STATEMENT BY DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors of UMW-OG is of the opinion that the provision of the Drilling Rig Services for the abovementioned Drilling Programme is in the best interest of UMW-OG Group.

NP of 10.8m comparatively best/uptrend over the last 3 qts (since Jun 15 when oil price started to fall)..
better then those oil companies making huge impairments/losses..
worth keeping the shares till next qtr with more happening this qtr and thereafter...
knm seemed diversified more into downstream contracts, thus, not really impact much by oil price turbulent...
see how mkt tomorrow response to these.

0802 GMT [Dow Jones ]MIDF keeps its buy recommendation on Malaysia's KNM (7164.KU) Group saying it expects the oil and gas company to win more contracts from Petronas' refinery and petrochemical integrated development project (RAPID) in Johor state. On May 13 KNM announced it won a contract from Spanish registered Tecnicas Reunidas (TRE.MC), one of the contractors at RAPID, for the fabrication of high-thickness vessels and high-thickness columns for use at RAPID. The contract is worth $23.2 million (approximately RM93.31 million). "We remain bullish on the RAPID project and we remain sanguine of more projects to arise from RAPID for KNM Group--especially related to the process equipment segment," said MIDF's analyst Aaron Tan in a note today. He maintains the target price of 0.62 ringgit. Despite the positive news shares of KNM is down 1.08% at 0.460 ringgit. (celine.fernandez@wsj.com)
