Hevea is a fundamentally solid company with very strong balance sheet & progressive growth. A company that has solid cash RM 112.85m, total debts of RM 14.601m, and earning power of RM20m net profit averagely per quarter and still climbing is not a strong company? Wow! then what is considered a solid company? lol I'm not an accountant but a businessman so I focus on the business side and the accounting side will take care of itself especially by the proficient Hevea's management team.
Just make it a simple strategy for yourself is enough and that is to buy as cheap as possible but I'm sure you won't be able to buy that cheap prices when u have to compete even with fund houses & substantial private investors. Real smart investors will omit the noises. Accumulate smartly.

Despite the change of tide, some supporters would still buy & accumulate but with the misaligned notions. Instead of optimizing their investment objectives, they have underestimated the change of sentiment as a directional shift in the company's core strategy going forward. Don't over exhausted your own resources too early because there will be better bargains.

There is always time and tide for everything. If u want to sail through the rough sea across oceans, u will still have to rely on the wind or in modern times u will need more fuel for your vessel's engines.

The fx rate 4.20 support barrier is broken and the looming GE14 will have an adverse effect not only on RM but also the local economy as a whole. That is why some people do not understand it, it affects the demand for trades with Malaysian companies and locally produced goods.

If my concerns are not aligned to what I've been expecting, MD Yoong would not have taken the interview to express his other concerns in a dovish tone. I hope those who purchased Hevea's shares yesterday and probably more today or subsequently will be able to pay up and have the holding power. Just remember not to waste your money and be smarter with your funds optimally.

Just as what I've been expecting after Hevea's stock price peaked recently where I predict it will be "normalized" back to the norm due to various notable factors. Now the fx rate is back to where the surge started since 09-Nov-2016.

Wow USDMYR just touched down 4.175 a minute ago. This will drive a sudden sentiment across all exporters hence it will hamper the demand by foreign entities for products, services & trades with local companies. I've said to watch fx rate closely yesterday :)

Just a word of caution. If those who bought a lot of Hevea's shares today are unable to pay up their contracts, it will trigger another round of selloff. More bullets will be hitting those buy queues all the way down so be sure u can pay.

paktua73, more bullets will come towards ur way. Make sure u can pay all ur purchases lol

The US Dollar has sunk to fresh low now to 4.2135 at the time of writing and it's still sinking. This will have adverse effects on exporters' future earning prospects.
2017-09-07 15:07 | Report Abuse
I'm seeing Hevea's stock price to be normalized back to the discounted territory than the current price that is still deemed to be unfavorable coupled with MD Yoong's dovish statements. Besides that, we may see another selloff towards the dividend ex-date on 20-Sept which is another 2 weeks from now so there are plenty of opportunities to buy cheap & even cheaper.
2017-09-07 12:37 | Report Abuse
A captain of a ship can only steer as much and the direction to where the ship is heading to is determined by many external factors. The most obvious and honest clues to that has been answered by MD Yoong Hau Chun, no? A hawkish or dovish stance? The best clue if to look into the obvious details.

Hi free2invest, good to see some old timer still here. I went to a week long vacation and still in the blue :)
2017-09-07 08:26 | Report Abuse
Please watch the USDMYR exchange rate closely since Hevea has high exposure of approximately 68%-70% of trade & other receivables in US Dollar terms. The BNM's decision months ago enforcing a policy to reverse RM selldown and to sustain the RM value by forcing all Malaysian exporters to convert minimum 75% of their earnings traded in foreign currencies back to Ringgit. The USDMYR has been sliding down for 3 days streak to approximately 4.22 now. From 4.45 to 4.22 does translate to -5% depreciation hence Hevea's earnings.

Let me put it in a better perspective on the latest Q2 results:
Q1FY2016: 145,911,000 (Revenues) / 23,612,000 (PBT) / 20,268,000 (NP)
Q2FY2016: 121,764,000 (Revenues) / 17,937,000 (PBT) / 15,161,000 (NP)
Total Revenues for first 2 quarters of 2016: 267,675,000
Total PBT for first 2 quarters of 2016: 41,549,000
Total NP for first 2 quarters of 2016: 35,429,000
Q1FY2017: 158,652,000 (Revenues) / 29,602,000 (PBT) / 25,310,000 (NP)
Q2FY2017: 135,323,000 (Revenues) / 17,980,000 (PBT) / 16,322,000 (NP)
Total Revenues for first 2 quarters of 2017: 293,975,000 (+9.82%)
Total PBT for first 2 quarters of 2017: 47,582,000 (+14.52%)
Total NP for first 2 quarters of 2017: 41,632,000 (+17.51%)
I took the effort to illustrate to u the comparison of the exact first 2 quarters combined of last year (2016) and this year (2017). Just a simple glance and u can see the whole picture whether it is progressively improving or not.
All the numbers have increased significantly well on tracks. You can't compare a single quarter alone to the last year's one but u must compare it as an aggregate to gauge its performance and to determine if the management team is efficient & effective in chasing better results. The numbers are showing it is well on track to achieve better total results this year (2017) than last year (2016) therefore the stock price will definitely appreciate. Notice the numbers +9.82%, +14.52% and +17.51% :)

I do not know if the upcoming GE14 would cause most of the stocks listed in Bursa to fall or not but we as investors must truly & carefully protect our capitals since KLSE may react anytime before the deadlines for 24 June 2018 (government must automatically dissolved) and 24 August 2018 (GE14 to be held). We're about a year into the next GE14 or could be called earlier so I believe most funds or private investors/traders are more cautious than before.

Instead of holding indefinitely, a real-world-scenario smart investor will dispose partial of the holdings to materialize part of the bullish gains in order to maximize the returns and in preparation for calamity or worst still any unforeseen circumstances. If your holdings is huge enough, u will understand what I've mentioned. The ultimate goal is to seek safety, stability in your investment while waiting.

Those who sold on panic or whatsoever reasons this morning may feel stupid for letting go their shares on hand. It is the human emotional feelings that most can't control when fear creeps in and that is when opportunity presents to others who are better prepared. In the end, only the few smart ones could reap bigger rewards than the rest.

traderman, have u ever make money profits investing in stocks? Buying as much cheap as possible in a fundamentally strong growth stock coupled with high dividend payout is the "best" way to earn a lot of money. No wonder ur name is called traderman because u trade stocks only? lol that is like gambling only. Believe me, u don't want to gamble in the long term because u will lose more than u earn.
I'm only interested to buy as cheap as possible to increase my investment yields since Hevea has high dividend payout supported by its high cash holdings and earnings ability averagely over RM 20 millions per quarter.

Many wood-based companies not doing well and Hevea is one of the very few that can sustain its earnings well and improve y-o-y results. I'm happy to be a part of such a solid growth company :) Sleeps very well at night owning pieces of this company. At least I never sell for losses but gains and re-accumulate for the better investment objectives.
