Andrewhlc, read my long statements earlier this morning and u will know why buying at this price level is not chasing high. The "New Income Streams" from Gourmet Mushroom venture is going to add a lot to earnings in 1H 2018. Get on to the grounds and talk to distributors, suppliers, retailers, etc and u will know why the demand is high for King Oyster Mushrooms (KOM) :)

I'm impressed and satisfied with the Q2FY17 business and financial performance. A RM 0.016 dividend is even higher than last year's Q2FY16 which was just RM 0.013 and Hevea still have lots of solid cash RM 112,850,000 ready for use anytime. The increased dividend payout shows some level of optimism that the management is confident with future earnings while still preserving a solid amount of cash. From the accounting/financial perspective, everything looks good, satisfactory and nothing unusual so business is as usual.

From a business perspective, don't forget the RM 48 millions capex spent this year will have positive impacts on earnings next year especially on the existing RTA division and the new Mushroom venture. That will sustain and improve overall earnings going forward. A new segment division "mushroom venture" will start to contribute in 1H 2018. Without using a calculator, I know just one sure thing and that is accumulate Hevea as cheap as possible "again" just like my previous experience before the bull run to current peak. Analysts were so interested until they initiated research coverage on Heveaboard and treat it like a rare gem from they way they wrote and opine.

+ Cash and bank balances: RM 79,311,000 (70.28%)
+ Tax Exempted investment with licensed bank: RM 33,539,000 (29.72%)
= Total cash holdings: RM 112,850,000 (100%)

One thing I like Heveaboard's management is their always very prudent and careful planning, practice & management styles. See how well balanced the proportions of the cash holding within. This small little things can tell u a lot of how a team operates. Even an investor with the mindset of Warren Buffett would invest into Heveaboard due to the following:

1) Strong MOAT: Checked (The first & only company in M'sia company to make Super-E0 and E0 grades of particleboards which is highly sought after in premium market in Japan + The only Malaysian company that makes low formaldehyde kids furniture)

2) Proficient management team: Checked (Proven track records over the years until it overturned huge debts into net cash company now)

3) Solid fundamentals: Checked (Became the largest RTA maker & exporter in ASIA in terms of volumes exported and export capacity + Still expanding footprints especially inroads into Japan and China markets both its largest export markets though its second major export markets Australia and India are gaining momentum based on statistical studies from AR2014 to AR2016)

4) Healthy balance sheet: Checked (The freshly announced Q2FY17 report yesterday is still showing very low debts of RM 14.6 millions & high cash holdings of RM 112.85 millions)

5) Capex & Expansion: Checked (RM 48 millions capex to be fully utilized this year 2017 mainly for RTA factory capacity expansion just right on next door land so it's a fully integrated facility with more than enough spaces for the new Gourmet Mushroom venture & future capacity expansions)

A quick review of the breakdown on the Capex this year 2017 amounting to RM 48m:
- RM 20m will be used in the RTA sector to build a new factory and to acquire new machineries for the 7.7 acre industrial land that we had just acquired for RM13.5 million.
- RM 13.5m to pay for the purchase of 7.7 acres next door land for expansion
- RM 10.5m to build new climate controlled gourmet fungi cultivation facility
- RM 4m will be allocated for further upgrading works for our particleboard sector.

Peers/competitors have posted bad quarterly results. Some who hold Hevea may opt to sell and buy to average down their other fallen wood-based stocks but I don't agree on that if a company is unable to improve earnings but should at least sustain the earnings without dramatic drop that means they are not competent. Fallen stock price does not mean bargain if it's not competent. Most of those who do that will most likely lose money in the near to long terms because business situations will become even more competitive or possibly worsened due to challenging operating environment & policy changes (recent one being rubberwood export ban) so if they couldn't even sustain themselves in this quarter, how well do u think they will perform in the next few quarters? Think very wisely. Heveaboard will have its Q2 result to show how competent it is as a niche and dominant company in its own fields so we hope for the best for its Q2FY2018 result :)

Beza, from what u said that shows me u really don't understand Hevea's strength. Its peers/competitors do not have what Hevea possesses. Just watch how it sprints pass the RM 1 billion mark @ 1.86 :)

The only thing that still excites me in Hevea is how well the Gourmet fungi business will perform domestically at first in 1H 2018. Secondly, the Japanese market fueled by the Olympic 2020 to be held in Japan which in turn indicates stronger demand for Heveaboard's high grades & eco-friendly products.

I was quietly accumulating a lot & managed to have averaged my costs best to 1.3047 when most people were bashing Hevea or uninterested while they overlooked this gem. At that time, the main reason that I dare to buy so much was due to the reason that I knew its earning capability in each quarter was still consistent & sustainable and its stock price will definitely fly later fueled by their 2 major catalysts (Next door land expansion for RTA and Gourmet fungi) will commence since they set up the HEVEAGRO registered with 2 directors the Yoong siblings. I felt relieved because this action announced by the company somewhat tells me the 2 siblings are in the main driver seats steering the pilot project so that assures me as a shareholder that their commitment instead of putting others as directors. No one knows whether it will materialize or succeed but judging from Heveaboard's past multi-years struggles, now they are in net cash and strong business position so do u think they will want to screw up the company? A definite no. Same case as China which endured decades of poverty and now it prospered and it feared to fall back into the same struggles in the past.

There are many companies listed in Bursa that like to register new subsidiaries under the umbrella but do nothing or progress to nowhere. The key is to understand the management styles and their track records in order to know if they are serious and their setting up new subsidiaries/companies means real business with proper capex to inject into it. I'm not an expert in accounting or able to juggle all the financial jargons like many sifu in this forum but I view things mainly in a business perspectives and find out their feasibility and operations in details. Since Hevea has very strong balance sheet among its peers, I channeled my focus on its SWOT analysis.

I know it's easier to be said than done. There was no coverage by research houses back then and people were bashing about Hevea while some others do have Hevea shares on hand but not much so I believe that I was one of the few who keeps taking in the shares at attractive prices. I reaped what I sowed and it's not easy but u must have a good eye and patience.

I still like and prefer Hevea for long term investment due to strong fundamental prospects, solid balance sheet, and near term catalysts is materializing very soon (gourmet mushroom venture). I've shared my views on the vast potentials of mushroom fungi as an export commodity such as canned foods/snacks and health supplements in the forms of pills/tablets, etc.

I bought 1.27-1.32 and I sold a lot in batches in order to get the best selling price ranging 1.73-1.77 and no foul plays but purely market demand absorbing. Then I bought back 1.62-1.65 and sold 1.73-1.75 yesterday. Currently buying back averaging down to make another killing. Now u see if u invest (not trade) based on solid fundamentals, u can make really good gains. Remember not to follow blindly but practice due diligence before u invest.

This is Hevea and it's incomparable to others. Bear in mind that it's the only company in Malaysia that produces Super-E0 and E0 highest grades particleboards. Secondly, it's also the only company in Malaysia that produces eco-friendly kids furniture with "low formaldehyde" contents for the health conscious & eco-friendly target markets/customers, not to mention it's also the largest RTA furniture maker in the whole Asia region. Thirdly, it's also the only company in Malaysia to cultivate "King Oyster Mushroom" in large scale initially with RM 10.5 millions for the first phase out of the total three phases. Just these 3 key overviews of their businesses and product offerings are enough to tell u its MOAT is one of a kind and strong with no competitors. Q2 results will be announced anytime this week or next so what are u waiting for? :)

The better investment should cost you at discounted entry values in order to maximize your gains so buying into Hevea-WB makes more sense and logically intact. Take notice that there had been active warrant conversions to mother shares each month from March this year even until today. The consistent conversions started since major shareholders Yoong and Loo families converted theirs totaled around 10m warrants to mother shares in earlier march this year.

Since march the total warrant conversions resulted with 26,357,600 new mother shares from warrant conversions and the dilution is not significant at around 5% upon full dilution of the rest of the warrants since the previous quarter result. This is not a buy/sell recommendation so exercise your due diligence is necessary.

The ongoing geopolitical tensions in SEA did affect the market sentiments disregard of positive factors but Hevea has proven to be a good pick especially when it's well supported from strong demand by fund houses and substantial investors.

Stocks that have strong "near term" catalysts and solid fundamentals will be the ones to look out for, able to weather the storms and it will be worthwhile to invest into instead of the weaker ones. Pay attention to any company's balance sheets because if the geopolitical tensions escalate further, it may affect cross border trades thus profitability of the company. Hevea will still continue to be able to weather the storms because its balance sheet is quite strong and its earning capability is skewed towards the upside growth.

I understand that some people do express concerns if there is an attack launched by NK and the Japanese market (Hevea's largest RTA export market) might be affected but I believe the tension will stay at the heights level but war may not ensue because it will be too costly and greatly disruptive among all the nations involved not only limited to the extent of the real economies. If u followed well the transnational progress, most especially the top 5 UN permanent seats countries do expressed their agreement on defusing the tensions but to avoid military. So I believe trades will still continue and if there is a war, Olympics 2020 will still continue based on historical facts.

Andrewhlc, the US just conducted tests on its own THAAD system in the begging of July this year and many critiques are still questioning the reliability and accuracy of the system. Even if THAAD is not perfect, US won't dare to admit it's flawless before battles so it's a poker game. It's not a 100% guarantee against all weaponry of the opponents so they will only know during the real scenario.

Stock

There is a twist. China has said it won't be neutral if US fires the shot first & China has declared to back NK. It was until last night, China said this https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/china-warns-north-korea-youre-on-your-own-if-you-go-after-the-us/2017/08/11/a01a4396-7e68-11e7-9026-4a0a64977c92_story.html?utm_term=.9c717a1c548a and many nearby countries will be dragged into it if the tension escalates.
So in this fiasco, no one will be the winners and it has shaken most asian bourses already so no one will know exactly what are the depths of the impact of this conflict will have on KLSE and specifically Hevea. Be mindful with it.
