Another Starbucks-led quarter

2QFY4/16 core net profit, which grew +24% YoY and +1.6% QoQ to MYR6.2m, was only MYR1.0m short of our initial expectation due to the weaker MYR (2QFY16 forex loss was MYR1.0m). 2QFY16 revenue growth was a stronger +80% YoY, mainly driven by Berjaya Starbucks (BStarbucks). We tweaked our FY16/17/18 net profit forecasts by -6%/-2%/-2% to factor in softer operating margins from the weaker MYR and correspondingly adjust our TP by –5sen to MYR3.05 (pegged to unchanged 22.5x CY17 FD PER). Maintain BUY

If you know accounting well, the net profit has not plummeted but instead improved from last quarter and also the corresponding previous quarter. In fact BFOOD is doing better every quarter. If you read carefully, the gain last year was a one off gain, which means this gain is only one off and did not come from its operating revenue.

These companies lure ppl to chase for the one off dividend and once it is ex'ed, the share price will be adjusted downwards. That is when u will get stuck with the share for a long long time...

Agreed with tht1. Moreover with the completion of M-City on Jalan Ampang soon, perhaps the cash pile will be even more with full drawdown of purchasers' loans... also icon city early next year..

Good time to buy now.. a lot of support at 2.28. This is still quite a good stock,considering the factory is fully operational next year. I view this as an opportunity to even make more money from this counter.

Agreed. GAB valuation is also good at rm14.32 considering dividend of rm0.51 per share to be ex first week of dec... we are looking at an immediate return of around 3.6% (without waiting for 1 year in fixed deposits)... my 2 cents worth..
