A researcher in Cyprus has discovered a strain of the coronavirus that combines the delta and omicron variant, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday.

Leondios Kostrikis, professor of biological sciences at the University of Cyprus, called the strain “deltacron,” because of its omicron-like genetic signatures within the delta genomes, Bloomberg said.

So far, Kostrikis and his team have found 25 cases of the virus, according to the report. It’s still too early to tell whether there are more cases of the strain or what impacts it could have.

@jeffchan1901....yes, I think 4Q EPS will be in the range of 16 to 20 sen, making full year EPS of about 70 sen.....dividend might be about 60/62 sen for full year ie 32 to 34 sen for final dividend.

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 4): Malayan Banking Bhd's (Maybank) foreign shareholding stood at 16.32% as at Dec 24, 2021, the highest in over five weeks, according to the latest updates on Maybank’s website.

The updates showed that the bank's foreign shareholding had increased from 16.31% on Dec 17.

The previous high was 16.4% on Nov 26, according to Maybank.

The financial services provider, which offers foreign shareholding data as far back as 2012, did not elaborate on the updated figures.

Maybank’s lowest foreign shareholding on record was 13.33% on Jan 6, 2012, while the highest figure was 25.99% on May 24, 2013.

Before this CEO took over on August 2013, foreign shareholding peaked at 25.99% on May 2013....latest is 16.32% on 24-12-21.

Dividend for financial 2011 was 68 sen.

Dividend for financial 2012 was 65 sen.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 27): Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd on Monday (Dec 27) refuted a report of a cheque returned by Seremban Bank Muamalat for being not halal.

The bank stressed that cheques are not categorised as halal or not.

“As a banking institution, the bank accepts all valid cheques which have been completely and correctly filled,” it said in a statement.

It said the bank had contacted the customer in the case as there was a technical error in which the name of the association written in the cheque was different from the name registered.

I normally only read what they have to say, and if I need a reference TP, i will take from many IBs, then get the average/median.

IB TP is just an opinion, and opinion is always very subjective.

Anyway TP by IB whether high or low normally also not chun...haha :)

...last year (2020), profit was the most impacted due to provision for moratorium, MBB still paid 52 sen dividend.
