One weird market sentiment is crude oil price fall n ppl panic? Is not slow demand in market, just when it was usd100/barrel, producer all went crazy to pump more n more, is logic it shd fall, cos it over pricey at usd100/ barrel for almost a decade, sooner market will find low crude price is benefit the world, car producers has lower cost to produce n consumer willing to buy car for lower fuel expenses.

@hng33, problem is accepted the deal one thing, drb needs approval from egm n board of pos to be conducted soon. So tis is still hanging, like merging vf mbsb...all is hanging

Anyhow, one lucky thing bout drb is less exposure to foreign fund, n foreign fund is cabut out from malaysia like no tomoro, so the day when EPF stop selling tis share, will b the day tat tis share start rebounce...but judge on current situation, government needs more money to save the heavy weight blue chip, n drb is not in the picture.

Erik, the main issue is proton drag down the share price, hard for tis share to b charming.
I bought this share at 1.36...1.3...1.28...1.26...the fact is drb hidden assets unable to evaluate such as alam flora, puspakom n ctrm...n auto sector the main income for drb is in downturn now, so if u r trading tis share has to be extreme careful, unless u r stubborn like me to play long term.

How bout merging between muamalat n mbsb...no news?

1. When muamalat discussed smoothly to merge vf mbsb to become 2nd biggest islamic bank in the country it dropped.
2. When drb subsidiary got extension contract to supply Boeing parts it dropped.
3. When drb sold KLAS to Pos malaysia n pump its share to 56% in pos it dropped.
N how can selling a nice piece of shopping mall in sg get the market excited compare to the above all?
After all, government is the larggest manipulator in the stock market, when tis happen...hope the share fly high n dint stop...lol

on june report, proton sold 22524 unit cars, and EPS is -1.02.
I done a simple calculation on july-september proton car sales, which is 28630 units, hopefully proton make less lose tis term.
For honda, suzuki, mitsubishi, isuzu and etc, car sales all went up between 6-20% if compare between september to june.

Drbhicom might b quite rojak previously, but after thailand been hit hard by the flood in 2011, i saw the management try to focus more in automobile/defence industry, many branded cars are being manufacture/assembly by drb.
Tats y i dun think takeover proton is a favor to tun M, but more to perfect the production chain.
Real challenges for drb are:
1. how to import less spare parts by using more localize spare parts to prevent currency risk.
2. Fully utilize proton manufacturing plants/ expand proton market

US Fed possibility to raise rate in december is almost certain, and RM shall be hit badly, i think is really hurting CIMB growth and profit till next year 1st quarter.

@Ammar, my 2 cents is: if you planning for long term investment in this stock, lets say 1-2 years, the price at this moment is very attractive, i dun do trading in share, i mostly accumulate for long term investment. So for me, there's no 8-10 cents different,i bought at 1.38, and im very satisfy with the price i bought. Nvr expect to buy at the lowest and sell at the highest, is killing ur brain cells.
In the long run, i think DRB will become ASEAN automotive leader in manufacturing, assembly, distribution & even R&D.
Anyhow, the September financial will out soon, based on the volume of Proton Iriz on the road, i think Proton shall making less lose in tis quarter.

I think cimb can hold till Valuecap start inject the 20billion by next month, as the main objective is to boost the index higher...propoganda...

i think this coming september quarter report shall show a 7-8% increase in revenue due to sharp depreciation of MYR to GBP,SGD & USD.
