Eastern Steel S/B - 49.5 million (impairment gain = 66.15 million).
Actual Eastern Steel S/B PAT (100%) less impairment gain = (49.5/0.35) - 66.15 = 75.28 million
35% Eastern Steel S/B PAT = 26.35 million.
Total Q4 2021 PAT of Hiaptek = 11.0 + 26.35 = 37.35 million.
Total Q1 2022 PAT of Hiaptek = 47.83 + 23.26 = 71.09 million.
Hiaptek alone without Eastern steel.
Total Q4 2021 Revenue = 164.83 million.
Total Q4 2021 PAT = 11.0 million.
Margin (PAT/Rev) = 11.0/164.83 = 6.67%
Total Q1 2022 Revenue = 406.63 million.
Total Q1 2022 PAT = 47.83 million.
Margin (PAT/Rev) = 47.83/406.63 = 11.76%
In other words Hiap Teck's own operations earned RM47.83m for this quarter. That's pretty damned good overall.
Quarter on Quarter, Hiap Teck's wholly owned operations more than quadrupled their profits.

I have both Hiaptek and AYS and also other steel stocks.
I look beyond PER and EPS.
I also look at the business and other FA parameters.
There are 5 steel stocks with PER < 5.0.
All are good stocks.

4 rolling quarters EPS = 13.11 sen
Current PER = 3.93
If PER = 5, the target price is 0.66.

The share price of Chinhin is 2.34 compared against the share price of Hiaptek at 0.505.
No one comments in Chinhin forum that the steel price will crash.
Look at the fundamentals of Chinhin and Hiaptek, then you should know that the share price of Hiaptek is very undervalued.

Foreign fund managers are buying steel stocks listed in China stock markets despite low steel rebar future price.
US investors are buying heavily on steel stocks listed in the US stock markets.
I hope local investors will buy steel stocks listed in KLSE to make money.
All steel stocks listed in KLSE are very cheap, they are trading at a PER < 5.
I sincerely hope that the bull run on steel stock will not end so soon, at least to last until the end of 2022.

All hardware dealers in Malaysia do not care about low steel rebar future price in China because China is no longer selling steel rebar to Malaysia anymore.
The steel rebar selling price is fixed at RM3,050 to 3,200 in Malaysia.

What about those profitable stocks like Supermx and Comfort in 2020.
Hengyuan, Dayang and oil stocks in 2019.
Furniture stocks and VS in 2015.
The profits from these stocks are a few hundred % gain.
