MPAY has about 710m shares in total. The two directors of Silverlake are Yvonne Chia and Chu Hong Keong, who have subscribed to 20m and 8m shares respectively. You do the math.

When the share price of Silverlake tanked on Friday, I didn't think it had any effect on MPAY's share price at all.

But any link between MPAY and Silverlake at this stage is still very vague and superficial. All we know is that two directors of Silverlake are shareholders in MPAY. That's about all. Silverlake itself does not own any stake in MPAY.

What I am saying is if the market price goes below the private placement price, why would the new shareholders still want to take up the private placement when they can just buy from the open market at a cheaper price.

Kelvin, you say that the price of mpay will fall to 20 sen and below. How is that possible when the private placement price, which is usual a discount from market price, has been fixed at 23 sen? If the market price falls below 23 sen, can the private placement still go through?

Despite the weak earnings, MPAY's share price still did not drop yesterday (closed at 31 sen). This is already considered very good as most counters with weak quarterly results (eg. K1, Eduspec, Priva) fell by 10-20%.

The drop in share price was not due to the quarterly results, but the political uncertainty.

To be fair, I think all lower liners and penny stocks are affected by the political uncertainty. Most of the stocks across the board also kena, not just MPAY.
