For HSI, there might have some push up in afternoon session for more than 28K, but in fact USA and China still have trade war in front, so for HSI index, now is considered temporary rebound …. anyway, quite difficult to play, morning you will see dow future in green, afternoon, you might see in red ….

For Lionind, average price is dropped for this qtr result, but minimal effect to the bottomline, the most important is the impairment of fair value net investment worth in Parkson, this one when go in deep, then the coming qtr result to lionind will either turn good or bad …. anyway, I did not study in detail …

This few days Lionind is strong to hold its price around 0.88, it did a good job. Tomorrow market should have a good rebound and after long holiday, time for push up the share price to the next level 1.00, once cross, next will be 1.20. Perhaps tomorrow will start to rise again with accelerated speed.

To Parkson impairment losses, Parkson is associated company of lionind, let's say half year review of impairment (last review done in Dec'2017), 2 key factors we to judge the impairment:
1) Market price of Parkson
2) Associated company losses from Jan-Jun 2018

As at 29/12/2017, closing price of Parkson is 0.515, as long the price is above 0.515, then to Lionind, there is decrease in marketable securities.

For 1st half year of 2018, Parkson will produce positive bottom earnings, and there is no further share of losses of Parkson's results. Instead, there will be reversal of impairment losses as compared to Dec'17 review.

previously got people said lion diversified delisted will increase impairment cost to Lion Ind.

Lion ind hold only few % shares in Lion Diversified thru subsidiary Amsteel and Antara Steel. As Lion Diversified not associated or subs companies of Lion Ind. This is only investment in market securities and only based on fair value presentation which is already reflected in their balance sheet. Anyway the losses is up to the cost of investment.

Anyway, the price now is only 1 direction, up up up …… Among 4 steel companies, my 1st choice still go to Lion Ind.

One more thing to say ….. expecting next qtr will have dividend for lionind …. Bonus issue not that fast unless the price cross over 1.20 or near to 1.50 first …..

this is what I estimated this qtr is either losses or at minimal profit. I used other China listed company results for estimation purpose, surprisingly the data can use to gauge the qtr result.

for me, lionind still a good bet as compared to Parkson provided the steel price still at current price with the anti-dumping tariff still imposed on imported steel products.

Parkson there is still some long road to go as:
- for rural area, the population will also prefer to have internet shopping provided with the shipping to access to the rural area
- for suburb and city area, most of the people will still prefer to have internet shopping instead of physical shopping, maybe aging people is the exception
- for Parkson, maybe those supermarket and food stalls will have more people to walk in/dine in ….. anyway frozen food will become more convenient for people to order the food and eat at home
- Parkson Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar etc …. may still struggle for profits

Anway, Parkson is associated co. for Lion Ind., if Parkson can do good in the following quarters, this will help the bottomline for Lion Ind.

Another thing to mention is the MRT for JB Bukit Cagar-Singapore Woodland, this one still on, this will also benefit to Lion Ind / Ssteel. Lion Ind got property development projects and also export to overseas countries and any new built of Parkson shopping mall also can
support their existing steel business. For me MRT/HSR will more to Annjoo and Masteel for Northern part. Southern part HSR is b/w Ssteel and lionind. Anyway the cancellation effect is not that affecting their current business revenue.

Amsteel (Klang) - export/local market
Amsteel (Banting) - local market (depend on mega project)
Antara (Johor Pasir Gudang) - Johor/Singapore (export market)
Antara (Labuan) - export market

Agak-agak only, not sure since not yet studied ….. whether to open Banting or not, the export and local building construction activities are good to support the current price even up to 1.20 TP. after the excellent result out today, the price will gap up from 0.80 and move towards TP1: 1.00.

This is due to steel business is doing great for this quarter and Parkson also contribute for bottomline rather than drag down the bottomline.

Anyway, ETP need to add waste disposal cost as well as total cost for this pollution control treatment. The more you incurred for waste disposal and pollution control equipment, the ETP penalty might be lower at some amount. But total up it will be some significant expenses to the company. Coke production definitely will have air pollution.

Some listed companies in China doing coke business has in last couple years implemented some changes in their production line towards changes to another business line which will be more favorable to green environment. Another factor you need to take into consideration is that the demand for coke for building construction will be slower down plus govt strict control on pollution will affect the coke business.

There are 2 main expenses affecting this qtr, one is gratuity and one is ETP, that's why I use 10 m for each qtr not 5 m. Don't think ETP is slight impact, it base on total pollution volume x the penalty rate per pollution volume. Anyway, margin wise will not be double digit, instead it will single digit. Anyway, all agak agak only.

Huaan may have higher risk to towards 0.20, please be careful, chartwise it may down towards 20 cents level.

For FA wise, assume revenue no changes, but since year 2018, EPT has been implemented with new ruling. Huaan results will be impacted by EPT. Assume each qtr NP result is 10M x 4 = 40M profit per annum / 1,132 M x PE ratio 6 = 0.21 cent TP. PE ratio 6 for China companies. Anyway, revenue assume no changes, but coke price in longer term might down towards level of 1,600 - 1,800. This will further shrink the bottomline level.

Agak-agak only.

Revenue is at top side already, metallurgical coke price in longer term, this might not able to reach previous peak price, more likely the price will move downward to the range area 1,650 to 1,850 area. Margin will be depressed by operating expenses.

For Huaan price, it may difficult to go back historical highest price. Don't want to comment what the price will be. You judge yourself.

There is 2 entities, one is AAGB, another one is AAB. Airasia Group Berhad exchange shares think maybe after Mar'18 with Airasia Berhad, maybe taken over of AAB. So before Apr'18 there is no revenue for AAGB.

Again, to me the result for AAB is 0.2 billion, so this is good or bad ? Jan-Mar is the peak season plus MYR strengthened, so compared to previous comparing qtr results, 0.2 billion profit is good or bad ? Another factor need to look at is fuel and maintenance cost.

yesterday night only studied the reports and any other latest info**(before only see their website), my conclusion is to cut losses now, that's all (cant disclose further - will disclose maybe after result if guess right). Maybe I am wrong but all depend on operator and market sentiment.
