I took profit at 0.985 already. Next I park my precious capital at Hartalega for about a week to take profit again. I agree that Hartalega is a good company with sound, visionary management. As with Comfort, I have reservations about the management.

New gloves to account for 10% of Hartalega’s export volume - Business News | The Star Online

https://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2018/08/10/new-gloves-to-account-for-10-of-hartalegas-export-volume/#uFuE7ckrY1TUYfHy.41

1⃣ Hartalega started off its financial year on a strong note, registering a 30% year-on-year growth in net profit to RM124.87mil for the first quarter ended June 30.

2⃣ The growth was driven by favourable demand and additional production capacity. The lower costs of nitrile, chemicals and upkeep of plant and machinery also contributed to the higher earnings.

3⃣ Hartalega expected the prospects for the rubber glove manufacturing sector to remain strong, with increasing demand arising from switching trends to nitrile gloves.

3⃣ Currently, nitrile gloves account for 60% of Malaysian rubber glove export.

4⃣ In meeting the rising demand, the Hartalega’s next-generation integrated glove manufacturing complex (NGC) began commissioning Plant 5 in August 2018, with construction of Plant 6 to follow, which will each have an annual installed capacity of 4.7 billion pieces.

The new Plant 7 is also in the expansion pipeline, with an annual installed capacity of 2.6 billion pieces, tailoring to small orders and specialty products.

5⃣ The increasing contribution of NGC to Hartalega’s revenue will help to consolidate margins and contribute further to group earnings.

It's more like market manipulators who deliberately panic sell to disrupt the ascending momentum for specific interests.

If Comfort can keep costs low admist increased sales revenue through expansion capacity plus FDA accreditation in the coming 2QR, it can strongly head north like Hartalega.

TRADING BRIEF - HONG LEONG IB RESEARCH
Rubber Products (NEUTRAL)

2H18 Outlook: Lofty valuations to cap upside

1️⃣ An imbalance in supply demand is expected to manifest in 2019 with the glove players expected to increase supply by c.14% (annual global demand growth of 8%-10%).

2️⃣ The RM is expected to be weaker in 2H18 which augurs well for the sector whilst the reversal to the SST regime will yield a neutral effect. We expect the glove players will apply for and receive an exemption for SST.

3️⃣ We maintain our NEUTRAL sector rating. We downgrade Karex to a Sell given the recent share price run.

Valuation
1⃣ Analyst upgrades recommendation on CGB to a BUY (from a Hold) with an unchanged target price of MYR0.92 due to minor share price retracement recently.

2⃣ Cautiously optimistic of CGB's earnings growth outlook, which will be driven by ongoing capacity expansion, resilient demand for its specialty rubber gloves and strengthening U.S. Dollars, albeit slightly capped by inflated business costs.(gas tariffs/labor cost)

3⃣ Target price is arrived by ascribing an unchanged target PER of 17.0x to its FY19 EPS of 5.4 sen. The ascribed PER remain at a discount to the PER of industry bellwethers like Hartalega and Top Glove, due to its smaller market capitalisation and capacity.

4⃣ Forward FY19 PER of 15.2x is below the industry PER of 23.0x, indicating positive upside at the current juncture.

WHO'S WINNING THE TRADE WAR?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=share&v=qNl0FlfMXOM

Published on Jul 18, 2018

So who’s winning the U.S.-China trade war? A short answer is … it depends.
1. Soybean Brazil may not have won the FIFA World Cup, but it’s a winner in the soybean trade. Brazil now produces over half of China’s soybean purchases, while US soybean sales to China have dropped to their lowest level in a decade. Weaker Chinese demand is bad news for US soybean farmers. Prices have plummeted more than 18 percent in the past two months alone.

2. Aircraft In the aircraft industry, the winner could be France’s Airbus. Airbus and Boeing are neck-and-neck in their competition for market share in China. But now Beijing is looking to spend 18 billion US dollars to buy Airbus planes. And, Boeing’s 737 passenger jets are now targets of a 25 percent retaliatory tariff.

3. Steel In the steel industry, one apparent winner is US steel workers. A tariff on steel has made Chinese-made steel more expensive. That’s good news for US steel producers, but for companies that buy steel, they’re taking a hit. For each steel worker the US tariff might help, it could hurt 46 workers in downstream industries.

4.The overall trade picture The overall trade picture could be much more complicated. Half of China’s technology exports are actually not Chinese. They are parts and components produced by other countries and shipped to Chinese plants for assembly. But when they’re assembled and exported to the US, they’re counted as 100% “Chinese goods.” That’s why in a world of highly integrated supply chains, trade wars can hurt all sides.
