With the material business offering stable income while the semiconductor going into correction, can't help but to think this is the safer counter to take cover than some of Mi's peers i.e. Vitrox, Penta which are finally coming down as their forward earnings probably unable to justify their lofty valuations anymore. Also, UWC who caters to mainly to their American peers are finally dropping. I'm not surprised if their US semicon customers had put temporary order stoppages until the whole new US-China export license restrictions saga are clearer

Trying to understand why UWC is even considered a semiconductor company (tech PE) when they do not even have any proprietary in house technology. In my eyes they are just a contract and assembly manufacturer just like VS. Explains why i dont see them being present in any of the SEMICON Expos. Can someone enlighten me?

Im very certain that the businesses that Serba is engaging are very real, but however one may ask why they have adopted such a complex contractual structure for most of their awarded projects. The answer is simple: the boss uses Serba as a front proxy for all the dealings (loan borrowings etc) but of course the layerings behind in those contractual is to pay off their supporting members. If you ask me is it trully fraud? No. Doggy money flow, yes. Kinda sad to see how things unfolded for this company in such a short period.

Sting79 - Which trading platform are you using? You should be able to see them in the transaction details tab in any eforce based trading platform i.e. kenanga, hong leong, Maybank. The cross trade volume today is insanely high. I didn't do a full summation but a rough glance at min. 5 million shares

And my gut feeling tells me that the IBs also facilitated these shorties to close their positions by engaging some of these PP buyers, hence wise you see some heavy cross trade today. Just wait for Bursa's net short position report to confirm if my assumption is correct.

Imo, the shorties have shorted this stock since 1.6 ish. They were hoping to press the prices down to below 1.55. However, the current price seems to be well supported somewhat. Hence they are not seeing much meat in the play if they cover it now. Plus now the sentiment in o&g seems to be improving. Therefore i believe the downside at the moment seems capped.However, if you are looking to make quick buck for CNY spending look elsewhere la.
