Unfortunately, not everyone is as lucky as the writer's mum. Many uncles and aunties still carry shares that are no longer listed. The 'investment' is as good as gone.

The availability of tech trading today easily make people lose sight of what is important in the slightly longer term. Short termism is definetely the mother of all enemy to the short sighted investor.
