I think the writer is looking at it purely as house buying matter,and not an investment. This is the fact. Many people end up bankrupted because fail to pay house loan. Don't easily committed to such a 'debt' if you are not ready. At the end, the investment might end up as liability.

China want to invest in Malaysia property market
How do you interpret why China want it so badly?
China is very calculative about their investment they want to gain the most out of it, the reason they choose Malaysia market is simply because they found the great potential in the market, btw those people who can mess up with property investment also won't be doing well in other investment especially equity market, they should put all their money into bank fd.
