start small. only do cash trading. Margin finance will wait until you have a consistent record of winning (and until you have a paycheck job to pay your expense).
read a lot. Learn FA, TA, learn to read annual reports. Have a business mindset.
Decide for yourself the trading strategy (intra/week/months), and investing strategy (net asset, growth).
Last but not least, give back. Life is more than just accumulation of money, though sometimes you like to shout HUAATTTT ah.

I started investing when I was in my university age. I remember I was on the local TV because I was trying to understand what has just happened in 97 in a brokerage firm.
I don't know about the other universities, in mine there were a service subscribed to Reuters, you could get much more details than through normal media, especially at that time the search engine and internet not as common and efficient. My lecturer said it costs usd100k to maintain such a service. So, make use of what your school provides you and appreciate the free flow of information everywhere.
Generally speaking, most people pays a lot of "tuition fee ", the learning curve is long and costly. Many give up and losts million of dollars. The challenge is they have millions to lose in the first place. So, at young age and have no money, is an advantage in investing.
Good luck
