@daretocutandchange not sure about the exact accounting but it should be very less relavant, as now those shares will go back to ling family in a trade of incooperating their other business of motor company into sygroup
should be a good thing as this year long buy back obviously attempt to push up the price without intention to collect low. (usually done at closing to push up the tprice).
the buy back may or may not stop right now but the job has been done. now ling family will get those shares, should be time to unleash the company value in market price along with it's new source of diversified additional income.
good thing about this company purchase is that it don't involves any loan or acculmulating of fund through or new share listing. all is done through company own extra idle cash and treasury shares. the new source of income from motor can be assumed as a free bonus
Shawn88, You can see that they have been injecting a few businesses into SYGroup, and it’s likely that more will be in the pipeline, considering they hold many profitable companies within Shin Yang. This counter move very slow and may switch gear from here on
win win situation for the family and other shareholders imo, as sygroup acquired more subsidiary companies with cash & treasury shares (without loan / private placement / listing additional shares that will dilute the value of the company)
They actually don't need to inject into SYGroup. The break even is 2-3 years with the purchased price and the injection price is relatively cheap. I sold off 40% of my shareholding in this company because afternoon selling is quite fast even with such positive news. I want to buy it back if touch my target price.
Will it announce a good dividend this quarter? I anticipate continued market attention and healthy dividends going forward, especially after the injection of new businesses.
while still holding some SYGROUP, although I expected SYGROUP will perform better than harbour within this 3 months QR, I can't believe SYGROUP actually performed so so much better than HARBOUR, way beyond my expectation.
which also means, the underperform HARBOUR is actually a very good bargain now. especially for those who locked a few profit from SYGROUP
SYGroup appears to be strategically injecting its profitable businesses into the company. I've heard that they have a diverse portfolio with many profitable ventures. Will the share price continue to rise significantly?
The company is expected to announce its quarterly results soon. Should I sell my shares or buy more, given the current market sentiment? September is typically a good month for the stock market.
The expected QR selling should be done by now, and more positive days are ahead. It should be on an uptrend from today onward, as newly acquired businesses will be included in the next quarter’s earnings, along with the dividend declaration.
@SCM2023 well said, I didn't expect the strong QR selling because the QR is similar to HARBOUR while HARBOUR also didn't suffer strong selling down. and yes SYGROUP now deverse better valuation than HARBOUR due to injection of new profitable business
SincereStock,As I understand from Sarawakians, this company has many profitable subsidiaries. I believe they are planning to inject more businesses into this listed company, as it has transitioned from a shipping-focused entity to a diversified conglomerate. Their businesses include trading, hardware shops, bus transportation, oil palm plantations, catering services, shopping malls, hotels, heavy machinery trading, petrol stations, fuel trading, construction, real estate, chemical plant, plastic factory, hyper market, agriculture and more.
sold all remaining SYGROUP at 0.890 (morning session open price, 02 december 2024), not satisfied with QR myself personally despite being reported positively, think current price has been at least fully valued at current EPS
