Guthrie before d merger was having d target of 25:25 (i.e. 25 mtons ffb n 25% oil extraction). They were very close on their target. Anyway, that was decades ago. Lets talk about now. We referred MIDF that FGV will set their targeted ffb production at 4.65 million mtons & cpo production at 4.85 million tons. On a positive note d current ffb production of below 20mtons yph & mill oer of around 20.50% when slightly improved to average 22mtons ffb yph & oil extraction to 21.5%, d profit will b huge. Somebody with d knowhow like Syed Mahdhar should b very capable of enhancing these target. Time being, it is still profitable, as long as d cpo price is above rm2200 per mton & FGV cpo production cost is maintained at rm1600 per ton. Talking about SDP expansions into buying New Britain Plantation & d coconut plantations business in Papua New Guinea, I think these business ventures should b given serious thoughts. For FGV, as I mentioned earlier, d LLA between FGV & FELDA is very disadvantage on FGV as FGV urgently needs to increase their ffb & cpo production to achieve higher profits.

CPO price moving up & down is solely due to supply & demand factors. Also, from competition of other edible/cooking oil in d market. In Malaysia, d price also fluctuate due to change in currency as CPO is traded in US dollar.

The MD says their target of yield is "17mt", if I am the MD, i will tell the estate managers to increase it to "18", 400,000ha too huge to check d weakness. MD to form the team of 5 n each concentrate on one estate (each 1 estate) near to KL n take full responsibility of that particular estate(if not free shd send d audit team to check). They should give 100% supervision on fertiliser application of their selected estate. Yield for sure go up up n if can be proven on 5 estates other managers will be shivering n all will run to the field to increase the yield.....
