Fact is 1. Top 3 banks are Asian ! 2. Singapore has 3 banks within Top 10 - Ocbc, DBS, UOB 3. Top bank is from Hong Kong - Hang Seng Bank 4. Malaysia has no banks within the top 20 5. Only 1 U.S. Bank is within Top 10 and 2 others within Top 20. 6. Japan has only 1 bank however it is rank in 2nd place 7. Criteria is US 100b assets and above and ranked according to various criteria within the requirement of that 8. Even Middle East have 2 banks in Top 20 9. Europe as a whole has 6 in Top 20 Base on this, we learn a few things, namely Asian bank exposure and governance is above many . Singapore being a little red dot in the world map and without natural resources has achieved true governance base on the key criteria of the ranking. The top 3 is known for efficiency, prudence, discipline apart fr stringent governance.

Public Bank is a prudent bank and hv their place in Asia under different category of excellence. The other 2 Giant bank in Malaysia namely MBB and CIMB are nowhere near with many failed endeavor especially in Indonesia and Thailand. Their dependence on Islamic banking may give some leverage but market is about ability to move dynamically and balancing that with governance
