KUALA LUMPUR: OSK Research Sdn Bhd has viewed Maxis Bhd's partnership with Astro positively as it would enrich the group's Internet Protocol Television franchise and bundling proposition.

It said the partnership would strengthen its quad play proposition from the cross-selling and bundling opportunities across Astro's three million household base and Maxis' 12 million mobile subscription base.

In a research note, it said following the 10-year partnership, Astro would become the exclusive content partner for Maxis' fibre and mobile services.

"The group said the regularisation of its international direct dial tariffs has been very positive, with call usage rising seven- to eight-fold for certain destinations.

"It is also seeing an increase in its migrant market share," it added.

OSK Research has maintained its "Neutral" call on Maxis with a higher fair value of RM6.50 from RM6. -- BERNAMA
