Interbase Resources Sdn Bhd or Lelong.my, aims to boost total sales transactions next year to RM500,000, from the current annual average of between RM200,000-RM250,000.

Managing Director Richard Tan said the company is confident of achieving the target via its new collaboration with Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM).

The collaboration involves the latest bundle of Lelong.my's Web Store feature in TM's Marketing Tools app, which aims to promote and encourage the adoption of information communication technology among small and medium entrepreneurs (SME) in their business operations.

"The adoption of e-commerce has been growing rapidly in the last two years as a recent survey by Paypal put the value of 2011 e-commerce of RM1.9 billion growing to RM3.5 billion by 2015 for Malaysia," Richard said "It is no more an option of, to have or not have an online presence, but rather a must have for all businesses, big or small," he told media after the signing ceremony with TM here today.

He said currently, Lelong.my had about 10,000 active sellers, and was targeting to increase this by 5,000 new sellers over the next 12 months. In the meantime, TM Executive Vice President for SME Azizi A.Hadi said Lelong.my's Web Store is the third feature in TM' Marketing Tools after Infoblast and SME Priority Listing by Internet Yellow Pages.

"Marketing Tools, launched in May this year, has attracted more than 2,000SME users and with this new collaboration, we aim to garner 5,000 new SMEs in this app in the next 12 months," he said.
Lelong.my's Web Store provides a powerful e-commerce solution of international standard that pushes businesses to the next level without any hardware or technical knowledge.

SMEs can set up their webstore in minutes, with features to manage their online inventory, sales, invoicing, search engine optimisation, shopping cart, online payment gateway and much more. -- Bernama
