KL shares slid on election announcement

Bursa Malaysia fell up to 60 points before Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced the dissolution of Parliament at 11.30am.

However, it gained some grounds to close 20.34 points lower to 1,664.66 at 11.56am.

At 11.30am, there were 88 gainers, 738 losers and 180 counters traded unchanged on the Bursa Malaysia.

The FBM-KLCI was at 1,653.01 down 31.99 points, the FBMACE was at
3,917.88 down 100.71 points, and the FBMEmas was at 11,381.76 down 139.45 points.

Turnover was at 760.744 million shares valued at RM1.426 billion.
