KUALA LUMPUR: Bertam Alliance Bhd will undertake the building and infrastructure works for a hotel block in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on a sub-contract basis for RM82 million.

The property developer and construction contractor said wholly-owned subsidiary Bertam Development Sdn Bhd (BDSB) had accepted the letter of award for the job from Akas Permai Sdn Bhd.

BDSB would begin the sub-contract works with immediate effect, with completion targeted for Nov 30, 2024, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

"The sub-contract is an avenue for the group to increase its order book and potentially improve its income streams and profitability," the company said.

Bertam Alliance said the sub-contract was expected to have a positive contribution to the group's earnings per share, net assets per share and gearing.
