The current Chairman of Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia, Y Bhg Tan Sri Dato' Dr Syed Jalaludin was appointed to the Board of Esso Malaysia Berhad on February 15, 2000. He is also a Member of the Nominating Committee and the Remuneration Committee of Esso Malaysia Berhad. Tan Sri Dato' Dr Syed Jalaludin is a national science laureate and a founder of the Acedemy of Sciences Malaysia. He was an acedemician with a long and illustrious career with University Malaya and University Putra Malaysia (UPM) before retiring as Vice Chancellor of UPM in 2001. During his career in academia, he had published over 350 papers in journals and proceedings in the fields of science, education and university management.
Tan Sri Dato Dr Syed Jalaludin is also Chairman of Kejuruteraan Samudra Timur Berhad, Ecofirst Consolidated Berhad, Taylor's Education Berhad and the Halal Industry Development Corporation. He is also a Director of TAFI Industries Berhad.
