He commenced work in 1978 as a cost assistant / accountant in MEM Malaysia Sdn Bhd before joining Nusabina Pulau Pinang Sdn Bhd as an accountant in 1982. In 1986, he joined Koperasi Gabungan Negeri Pulau Pinang Berhad as Finance Manager. He was appointed General Manager of SDKM Fibres, Wires & Cables Berhad in 1997 and Executive Director of SDKM Fibres, Wires & Cables Berhad in 2001. Subsequently in 2007 he joined Workplace Basics (Asia Pacific) Sdn Bhd as Principal Consultant. He joined Ideal Jacobs (Malaysia) Corporation Bhd in January 2010 as Chief Finance Officer and appointed as Executive Director on 1 August 2011.
