11月24日新疆乌鲁木齐的一个民宅小区发生火灾，但因为严格的清零封控措施，导致救灾难上加难，依据官方声明，这场火灾最终酿成10人死亡、9人重伤，但网民对真实数据存有怀疑，传闻当地值班医生也透露实际死亡超过44人。严格的防疫政策令无辜的人民丧失生命，各地也都陆续爆发不同的示威活动，被称为「白纸革命」的抗争活动在中国各地遍地开花。
