Last year, search and rescue dogs were in the spotlight because of their role in saving victims of the Batang Kali landslide; later, Blake (an English Springer Spaniel), a key member of Search And Rescue Dogs Malaysia, was euthanised due to advanced euthanasia, drawing millions of tributes online from Malaysians. We speak to the folks behind the team about how these dogs are trained and the sort of work they do. We also hear from our listeners about their own heroic dogs, in ways both big and small.
