WCT Bhd has posted a higher pre-tax profit of RM59.782 million for its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2010, compared to RM53.88 million in the previous corresponding quarter.

Revenue, however, declined to RM357 million from RM1.31 billion previously, the construction and property development group said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.

For its nine-month period, the group recorded a lower pre-tax profit of RM165.57 million compared to RM193.73 million in the previous corresponding period.

Revenue during the period dropped to RM1.27 billion from RM3.45 billion previously.

'With the improved macro economic outlook and the launch of the Economic Transformation Programme by the Malaysian government, the group is confident of achieving satisfactory results for the remaining period of the financial year,' it said. -- Bernama
