Results: MISC Q2 profit surges

Esso Malaysia Bhd registered a pre-tax profit of RM21.3 million in its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2010, against a loss of RM24.7 million in the corresponding period of last year.

PLUS Expressways Bhd, Malaysia's biggest toll-road operator, said third-quarter net income rose to RM349.7 million ringgit from RM331.6 million a year earlier.

MISC Bhd, the world's biggest owner-operator of liquefied natural gas tankers, said profit in the second quarter ended Sept 30 surged to RM369.4 million from RM82.1 million a year earlier.

MMC Corp, a Malaysian power and construction group, said third-quarter net income rose to RM117.8 million from RM88.7 million a year earlier.

Hing Yiap Group Bhd pre-tax profit for the first quarter ended Sept 30, 2010 increased to RM11.509 million from RM9.701 million in the same period of 2009.

Privasia Technology Bhd pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2010 rose to RM2.81 million from RM828,000 in the same period in 2009.

KSL Holdings Bhd posted a slightly higher pre-tax profit of RM19.57 million for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2010 from RM19.35 million in the same quarter 2009.

KLCC Property Holdings Bhds pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2010 increased to RM143.228 million from RM130.484 million in the same quarter last year.

Allianz Malaysia Bhd pre-tax profit for the third-quarter ended Sept 30, 2010 increased to RM50.379 million from RM39.603 million chalked up in the same quarter last year. - Bloomberg/Bernama
