Celcom Axiata Bhd recorded a pre-tax profit of RM814 million for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2010, up 14 per cent from the same corresponding quarter last year.
Revenue rose by seven per cent to RM1.7 billion.
For the first nine months of 2010, Celcom retained double-digit growth on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in all key indicators.
Revenue increased by 11 per cent to RM5.13 billion and pre-tax profit rose by 17 per cent to RM2.41 billion.
Its chief executive officer, Datuk Sri Shazali Ramly, said the result showed that Celcom was currently on track to achieve its target for this year.
'The third quarter is another dignified quarter for the company, sustaining double-digit growth YoY in all key indicators,' he told reporters after the announcement of the third-quarter results today.
He said Celcom would continue with ongoing investments in expanding its network coverage, capacity and enhancing its performance to meet consumers' demand for better access and faster connectivity, especially with connectivity trends moving from voice-centric to data-centric. -- Bernama
