KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 5): Microlink Solutions Bhd has appointed Ramlee Abdullah as its new group chief executive officer (CEO) to replace Chia Yong Wei, who is stepping down from the role after six years at the helm.

In a statement, the technology solutions provider said Ramlee came over to the company from Omesti Group in March this year as senior manager of sales. He was subsequently redesignated as the CEO of the public sector on June 1.

Ramlee holds a track record of more than 30 years in the banking and financial services sector in the Asia, Middle East and Africa regions.

Microlink deputy chairman Datuk Jagan Sabapathy said Ramlee’s extensive experience in the ICT industry, serving a wide range of financial services and public sector organisations, will be invaluable to the group in delivering the next phase of growth.

He said Microlink’s business is organised in four clear pillars spanning financial services industry, telecommunications, public sector and distribution streams.

“Ramlee will be well-supported by the strong contingent of C-Suite leaders that have been put in place to head these business pillars, complemented by their respective teams. Together, they will continue to drive the business forward, under Ramlee’s leadership,” said Jagan.

“Ramlee’s credentials, together with the in-depth technical expertise of our business stream teams, will ensure that the group’s strong and steady performance achieved over the last few years continues. It will also ensure that our expansion into new geographical markets and technology sectors is achieved, in line with our strategic plans,” Jagan added.

Microlink shares closed down one sen or 1.68% at 58.5 sen on Monday (Sept 5), giving the technology solutions provider a market capitalisation of RM620.04 million.
