Gold edged higher on Thursday as the dollar eased off a six-month high against the Japanese yen, but bullion failed to gain traction as traders said U.S.-China trade tensions so far were boosting the U.S. currency instead of the precious metal.

HSI/ HSI Warrant


U.S. stocks climbed on Thursday as top technology names hit record highs and industrials rebounded from losses driven by trade worries the day before. 


Hang Seng recovered slightly on Thursday as markets tried to consolidate from the previous session's steep losses when fears of an escalation in the U.S.-China trade war jolted investor sentiment.

FKLI made a strong surge yesterday, forming a break out from its previous bear trend. Market look likely to hold firm today after overnight Dow gained 224-points. Any surge beyond 1711-level might see market heading towards 1724.5 next.

FCPO attempted an rebound to 2211 on Thursday but the sell pressure came in later, depressing the prices back to 2180's for a close. Dalian and soybean oil are weak today while Ringgit stays at RM4.03 against the greenback.
