Gold backed off a one-year low after U.S. President Donald Trump said he did not approve of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates again in an interview with CNBC.

U.S. stocks dropped on Thursday after earnings disappointed and trade jitters escalated over worries that the European Union could slap retaliatory tariffs on goods imported from the United States.

 

Hong Kong shares fell on Thursday, as an accelerated depreciation of the Chinese currency hit airline stocks and soured investor appetite for yuan-based assets.

FKLI went slow yesterday with a little choppy after the strong surge on Wednesday, despite it still recorded a new high at 1768 but the market was resisted at this level and resulted some selling pressure at the final 30 minutes to force closing at 1756.5. Buyers are asked to be cautious if the market falls below 1750's as it may turn out to be another signal.

FCPO tipped at 2220 before the tumble to 2180's again on Thursday. Dalian and soybean oil are mixed while Ringgit stays weak at RM4.06 against the greenback.
